My door is always open if I`m here, call first or take your chances on a drive by.

Right around Boonville is probably a good time, don`t you think? Just talked to a guy yesterday that has some blown down poplar that I could have milled into cants, now all I need is a few big blocks for an axe throw.

Al in all it seems like a good idea to me. I just want to warn everyone though, I subscribe to the Archie Bunker philsophy on gun control, noone will need one if everyone has one. :D I know Marky has got a few so he`d better show! I can`t really fault him though, chicks have also caused me to do a few things I shouldn`t have, LOL.

Yeah, after reading about packing heat on this forum, I went right out and bought a Casul 454 and a Desert Eagle 50. My tongue and cheek nicknames for them are cleverly derived from the years that they were manufactured, namely "2004" and "2003", respectively. I now carry "2004" under my left arm and 2003 under my right. Since the 454 has such a savage muzzle flip, I need the added strength of my right hand to corral it, hence the strategic placement. I'm even thinking of placing hand grenades under my pillow at night.

I think the inate reasons for this is that I've come to the realization that I'm just an insecure person with a small johnson that wants everyone to respect and be afraid of messing with me.

Russ,
Now, if you had a get together, that might be something I'd be interested in attending. I could probably even leave the NoDoze at home.

If everyone is packing a piece at the get togethers, why can't we have a tree limbing contest to see who's the best shot? It surely can't be more dangerous than weilding a KD088 held to the pin.
In fact, I have done my fair share of logging with a side arm. I have done it all, so nothing scares me anymore, and why would it?
John

The goatee suits you well, John. I have had a goatee for many years because it makes people thing that I am much more manly than the limp-wristed putz that I really am. My new sidearms merely complete the facade.

As for guns, target practice, and trees my vote goes to Walnut trees. You can stand as far away as you like and shoot the walnuts. They burst nicely when they are hit. I would imagine pawpaw's would be the same but they are just too tasty to shoot.

My research is on the genetic variation of wood properties and using Near Infrared spectroscopy to predict wood properties in juvenile wood of loblolly pine. Its a Master's project, im done with my defense and now I just have to finish up a few edits.

Russ if you have your get together i will try to come even if it is in NEW YORK state , I know i said i would never race in that state again and to be honest i never raced there yet , i drove 8 hours to a show , got there they changed the rules , tore down my stock 3120 which it was 100% stock , they could not find anything that was not stock because there was nothing to find but right beside me was a 166 dolmar running on alcohol in the stock classes so i could see this was not the place for me so i left but this is a get together right Russ for fun

For fun, and nothing else Ed. Those staged competitions where the winner is known before the event aren`t good for anyone except the "winner". I`d just like to have a friendly get together to play with chainsaws, swap ideas, maybe knock back a few cold ones over some good food.

I`ll let everyone know when to start planning.

Russ
