LOLOL!! Those are not crimped on...though they look that way. Pry the "crimped" collar up and off the nipple...remove the old line..put the "crimped" collar on the new line ...put the new line on the nipple...slide the collar down and on over the nipple..done..tight.....took me quite awhile to figure this out too!!

Now for Jonsereds prices of the past......this list spike60 sent me and it is (I assume ) a mfg suggested price. This lists some models and is efective Sept 1 1980..the prices increase with bar length and bar style/quality..

451E Sprocket 18" Winsor $429.95

Was the jonsered 2083 a 77cc saw at one time. I found a jonsered brochure from the 90's that had the 2083 listed as a 76.5 cc saw with 5.4 hp. The 2071 was listed at 5.4 hp in the same brochure. I was surprised at the same hp rating for the 2 saws. It also listed the 2055 as a 3.8 hp saw that weighed 11.2 lbs.

I picked up a Jony 2071 Turbo that got runned over by a tractor. The top and rear handle is beat up but I think the internals are OK. Is it worth fixin' or would cost too much?
Where's a good place to find parts? I tried Chainsawr but he didn't have much.
Are other models similar enough to use parts from?
I can post pics tomorrow.
Thanks.

Oh my goodness! That thing is so much fun to run! I used it last weekend for a few hours, and it really likes making chips! The stuff I was blocking up was small enough where my 359 would have done it easily, but that isn't my newest saw, this one is! hehheh. Might have to start working out though if I am gonna use it for limbing too!

Only real issue I had/have with it is this: I am 5'8" (on a good day). That 28 inch bar takes some getting used to to keep it outta the dirt. Not used to the bar sticking out 10 to 15 inches on the other side of the block! Sux to be short I guess!

Jonsered 510, 520sp

I ran across a complete Jonsered 510 and 520sp along some misc parts for both models if anyone has a need. I know... horrible saws, but the 520sp wasn't too bad if you kept an eye on the oil line and air filter.

Please PM if you have any interest. Looking to trade.

So where does the 50 fit in, then? They built a 451e, 49sp, 50, 51, 52e, and 521e. Was that the line up? When I first bought a 521ev, I was thinking that it would be the little brother to the 621, but they were nothing alike. I have some of the development in my mind from the 625/630/670 saws and the 910/920/930 series, but am a little fuzzy on the smaller, older saws.

So many saws, so little time!!!! LOL!!!

Cs2150

Is there a way to get just a bit more performance out of a stock 2150? I don't really want to buy a bigger one just to cut firewood. Mine's about 5 years old, and pulls an 18", .325 x .058 chain. It will often bog or stall in conditions it seems it should pull right through.

Perhaps a new spark plug and a bit of carb tweaking would help? It may need to be leaned out, as yesterday, it ran out of gas. Just before it quit, there were a few brief periods when the rpms *really* picked up and it cut like mad.

Air filter is clean, fuel is fresh, muffler unobstructed, bar-tip sprocket is free (new bar).

Older Jonsered's

The rpm's picked up because the saw was running lean due to running out of gas.

Adjust the low speed to get the best idle, then adjust the high speed on the rich side of highest rpm until the saw starts to burble (four stroke). Better to run them rich than seize them.

I don't deal with the newer saws, I specialize in the older Jonsered, but according to my Jonsered chart you are maxed out for the recommended bar length. If you want to pull a bigger bar efficiently you need to get a bigger saw, more cc equals more torque. Torque is what gets the job done with bigger bar lengths. There are a great many nice older 625, 630 or 670 pro-saws out there. I buy and sell them off eBay all the time, and you can pick them up for a reasonable price. The recommended bar length that Jonsered recommends for these saws is 15 to 24 inches. These are my favorite go-to saws, I've got 8 of them in stock right now. The only problem with them is that some parts are getting hard to find, but the Husqvarna 61 and 262 use many of the same parts and they are easier to get.

Jonsered 670

Question for your J-Red experts.
I am looking to acquire a J-Red 670.
I know that this was made by Husky (Correct?)
In order for me to find parts, what Husky will cross over?
A Frankensaw...

Thanks for any and all help.

Well that's kind of a hard question to answer....as the 670 was a fairly long lived model and there were changes made along the way....some small.... some major..basically the early VS the late and it matters greatly what the starting point is as to what Husky models interchange. Also...sometimes you have to change more than one item to achieve a running saw in the end. Again much easier to answer specific questions concerning specific models when trying to mix apples and oranges....my suggestion would be to look for a late model 670 Super II or Champ for starters...these were the latest versions and the simplest and easiest to work with. These did away with some needless parts and were a one piece Ducati ign system....a fair improvement over the earlier two piece system...not that there is anything wrong with the 2 piece...just more stuff to fail......at this time I don't own a one piece 6XX series saw....all of my 61 and 61 conversions are 2 piece as well. If you go to early you get back to the coarse thread crank/ clutch.....these are very hard to find with the centers not stressed out..also there is only one clutch for the coarse thread but several different available styles for the fine thread crank......I could go on and on......I really enjoy the 6XX series and 61 thru 272XP Husky series saws......great saws....
