Welcome to the site. The answer to your question is ......No.......though the 920 and 930 do follow the 910E production wise, both handles, AV mounts and entire PTO side case halves are altogether different and do not interchange. Now the flywheel side case halves and recoil are the same...or at least similar enough the swap. Can't help with the 2050 markings...probably metric measurements for fitting firewood to certain sizes. (Just a guess)LOL!!![/quote

Thanks!
I got a deal on an assembly from a 920 before I got your reply, so I may try to make it fit. If not, I'm not out much, and like they say," Education costs money too".

Oh hell yeah....I wanna couple of dozen at this price!http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jonsered-mo...152?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c2b44de0

You gotta love the bay.....:ices_rofl:

There's an ol' 80 on the bay right now, horrible pic in the snow. Part of me wants to rescue it...but I gotta stop buying this stuff until I can catch up to what I have around here. Just the power head, but it could all be there. Make a nice part's saw unless it's been stored outside....looks pretty rough, but then the pics are terrible.

.... And, second question, what or how on earth do you decipher those "ruler" markings on the bottom of my 2050 clutch cover?

Those markings are on many smaller Jonsereds.

I am thinking around the same lines as Cantdog suggested, but I still can't make out the exact purpose - or get any sense out of the numbers that are there (except that they are cm numbers).....

Damn...that old 80 went for just $40 on the bay. Shows ya how bad presentation can kill you. But....shipping was $50, so the buyer had $90 into it. I don't think it was worth that without better pics, unless you've been looking for an 80 project saw forever.

Be cool if the buyer came here wanting to ask questions on how to restore it, though.

Kevin, a lot depends on the availability of old Jonsered(s) saws are in your area. Out of the 12 or so Jreds that I have/had, only one was purchased locally, one was from an AS member, the rest came from eBay.

Ih Houston, I have seen four Jreds for sale in about the past three years.
--A used 2171 in a pawn shop, which I bought.
--A 2135?? at the same PS. I passed on it because it was a rebadged Poulan with no AV, basically a homeowner saw that could be purchased as a Poulan from any box store, or on-line, for about the $$ as the PS wanted.
--A 2171 barely used on CL. The price was about fair market value, & it sold quickly (at least the ad disappeared after a couple of days).
--A 49SP on CL. Beat to hell, had at least the lower rear handle missing, seller wanted too much $$. The ad ran several times, I don't know if it ever sold.

That's true, Chris. I think the saws were pretty plentiful here in the PNW, but I only go after the 80/90's which I think makes my search a little more difficult. I'm just lazy that I wait on ebay for the right one to come along. The 90 I recently won is everything so far the seller said, but will take a lot of my spare parts to make it run again. If one of the coils is bad, I may just use it for parts and keep looking....can't make up my mind.

There is a nice looking 49sp for sale on the UK ebay. Ending in 20 hours and the bid is currently .99 sterling about $1.50! Sounds like it needs work on the oiler. It has more paint than mine. I really enjoy using mine. Good luck to someone close.

Well, unless it's gonna get snipe torpedoed at the end...sounds like a great deal for someone!

LOL....pics or it didn't happen.:p

LOL!! Well you saw the Ebay pics...and if you didn't here's the link....http://www.ebay.com/itm/281249783491?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649.

Of course the interesting part can't be seen, except for the decomp, which the 625, 630, or 670 never had. And by interesting I don't mean...interesting in a good way. Also don't take this as an ebay slam as it isn't.....I bought it with as much of an explanation as I believe the owner had to give and the pics tell most of what is good and bad about the saw. I am happy with the purchase but only because I have everything needed to make this saw right.

The seller said the saw would turn over with a wrench on the crank but very hard to do........I found that to be true. I didn't take any before pics. so I'll explain/describe what I THINK I know about this saw........first the saw is in very good cosmetic condition and on internal inspection has very few hrs on it. I came with a 20" Oregon bar which I believe to be the original bar that came on it......it is in great shape also has a near new Oregon full comp chisel chain...not the original but I would say only maybe the third or fourth chain to have ever been on this saw. Here is a couple pics of the cyl and the custom decomp setup. I didn't clean anything....just the way it came to me.....I just took it apart....note how clean and not discolored the cyl is.....also how clean the flywheel is and the clutch area though sawdust everywhere...not a bit of chain lash/rash on the cases.....chain catcher looks new...don't thing this 27 yr old saw ever threw a chain....625 001.JPG 625 002.JPG 625 019.JPG 625 014.JPG 625 013.JPG

Nah...I missed the pics first time around, thanks! Definitely looks like a low hr Betty...good score. I don't see the efficacy in installing a decomp when there wasn't one. I lived my life without using any on bigger saws. I never use the one on the 90 even and the Husky 2100's never had one. Oh well...most people love 'em I guess. Seems to me they'd fowl up and you'd start losing compression at some point because they don't seat properly.

Might be just the angle of the pic, but one clutch shoe(bottom) looks more worn than the other two? I don't understand how ppl sell saws with sawdust & pitch on them everywhere...especially under the clutch cover....I'd be embarrassed to do that. So wadda think the reason is for turning over so hard....does it have spark? Flywheel looks brand new almost!

Yep...just the angle of the pic of the clutch shoe....all the same. I know why it turns so hard and will get to that. Here is my forensic opinion on this saw. I believe this saw was originally owned by an older person who wanted/needed the decomp and he took very good care of this saw.....kept it just like new.....may have installed the decomp himself....then he either sold it or passed away or something similar and it was acquired by an absolute Yahoo who did bad things to it...more pics in a while but the wife is declaring we must go out for breakfast..

I didn't see this auction either. My "go to" saw is my 625. Looks very clean! Good score.
Thanks but.....Really??.......you prefer the 625 over your 630 Super??.....I don't have a 625 other than the one just posted but do have a 61 Husky that I've had since almost new....(had half the original chain used up when I got it) which is almost exactly the same saw........my 630 Supah is the same weight as the 61 but way better power/zip......

More on the 625 in the morning...stay tuned......worth it.... believe me...LOL!!

Kevin I think that same saw relisted this morning, at least the picture looks the same.

Whoa.....yes, it's the same saw! "Good compression" isn't 120psi.....in fact it may not start with that, without help.

*Sigh*...OK, I'm contacting him about the shipping. If someone else wants the saw please speak up now, but don't bid against me-it would be rude and I'll bail on ya at some point....
I need a lot of parts from that saw to make this new bought 90 whole again.:D Thanks for the heads-up, Jim!

I do at the moment because I haven't got much time on the 630 because it needs EVERYTHING. It was an ebay saw that i got taken on  and I've been slowly collecting things for it and i have most of it sorted out... but I can't put it in wood yet as the muffler keeps falling off of it because the po stripped out one of the muffler bolt holes and i haven't had time to deal with it yet. My 625II is almost mint and use it alot. I can't wait to start using the 630, but right now it's just a reminder of why i shouldn't be on ebay looking at saws .
