I've got a mountain of spare parts now for the 910 including Cabers....just need to finish this big job and have my life back. Good luck with your project!

Kevin
Kev, got my piston wrist pin spacers and bearing. Waiting on my Cabers to install the top end.

That AV buffer in the rear handle is causing me grief. All of the ones I have from my handles have fallen apart. I missed half of one that sold on ebay for .99!!!!
And I'm having a problem with the clutch washers. I need the big one that fits against the clutch and the one that goes over the race and fits against the rimmed sprocket.

If anyone has any 90 parts give me a shout.
Thanks

That's the split AV...they're really hard to find in good shape...I can't help ya there. Go by the IPL and tell me what parts you need for the clutch....probably have those.

Thanks Kevin - 4184400, 4180300 (specific to 3/8), 4184300, 4171300

Dean...out of that list, 4184400 is a friction plate and the rest are washers and spacers with 4180300 being specific to 3/8. Back in the day, we just interchanged 3/8 0r .404 rim sprockets on the Oregon clutch drums. Unless it's a fixed rim drum(spur sprocket), I don't see why J'red lists the race and bearing as peculiar to 3/8 or .404. And that 4180300 3/8 specific washer/spacer is going around the same size shaft no matter what.....?

I did get some good parts from it. Most importantly the piston wrist pin and spacers. The piston was badly scarred however.

You can clean up a piston well with those ScotchBrite pads....then drop it down the cylinder like the Robin said(decomp closed/plugged and spark plug in). Sinks to the bottom slowly, you're good to go. Providing the skirt or sides aren't deformed/thinned. It's more about the actual shape of the skirts(as compared to a new one) and looking for wear.

Yikes! Does a pickup come with that?

Ya...you'd think so!

I'm all for folks doing this right with NOS parts, because I personally don't care about provenance...but this is an insane asking price. As far as I know the 910, 920 & 930 haven't got the collector's clout yet that say the 111S does. I have heard of people paying $700+ for a 111S. I imagine if someone did a NOS parts 111S, it might fetch a grand on ebay....maybe. My guess is this guy is testing the waters....I bet he finds it frigid. He's also got some extra parts(probably from this build) listed on the bay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Jonsereds-910-920-930-chainsaw-parts-rare-old-logging-power-milling-saw

I think the handle changed after the 910 and I'm not sure all parts will interchange with all the models like the guy implies in the auction...Robin?

Stumbled into this the other day. I suppose some of ya know these guys. In the first part of the vid(before they go to the woods), are fantastic factoids about the 900 series. I wish I had time to diddle around like that!

Anyway, if you haven't seen this and are interested in the 900 series;

Handle AV's on the bottom change a lot after the 910....even went to a Partner type, integral wrap handle system. When I get my 910 back together....I'll take some pics of that 910 AV system with a West Coast full wrap handle. There's a steel post that's anchored and pokes through the wrap handle so that it limits how much travel can be in the wrap handle. I'm thinkin' that a J'red engineer's kid came up with that while playing with Legos. Nobody in this vid said anything about a rev limiter in the module, just the Tilly governor that has an easy, well known defeat trick. Personally, probably because I'm used to working in the woods, I don't think these saws should be allowed to wrap anymore than 12 grand....OE parts are too rare and the aftermarket doesn't always supply pistons & jugs. Have some reservations about GOLF et al.

Most people curse those Tilly governors but I can't ever think of one failure in all the loggin' saws I had with 'em. Like everything else in a carb, they have to stay clean.

ok, I put them all together. Can anyone think of a reason why my gasket wouldn't work? Squish issues?????

View attachment 380666

Dean.....if everything is OE, why are you worried about squish? That only comes into play when they delete the gasket, go with a much much thinner gasket and/or are porting. The only danger with OE is if you went without a gasket. Some good vids on youtube about squish if you're paranoid.
