I think you need to add some fiber to your high moral bs diet.

Haha, remembers always, be carefull what you agree to. He never asked how long it took. I told him 50.00 , he agreed. However not everyone can rip a 310 down to the bearings in 25 minutes. I think the Stihl timetable guide allows about a hour so I didn't screw the man, I'm just faster than the average cat, thats all..

Nah, charging more than double posted rate isn't screwing the man. :)

Awww your not a very good lawyer my man, you have skipped your investigation. Did you notice there was no mention of any charge for getting the other 310 running. Its not free nor my job to supply fuel and remove water from his tank and crank his saw and get it running. Anywhere else he would have been charged for that, he was not. There was no charge for pulling the muffler on the other to see if the piston was good. Anywhere else he would have been charged for that as well. So now let me ask you was it wrong of me to do those things for him for free, hmmmmmmmm

It's $81.25 an hour in OHIO which is why if one craps, which they don't I just buy new!

81.25, wow. Hell the Chevy dealer only charges 90.00 a hour to work on Vettes here. 81.25 sounds steep, I thought 50.00 was pushing it and I didn't set that rate, the head honco's did.

Yes, since you're an employee, your paid time is not yours to give away for free.

Thank you. I figured 30 minutes to tear the one saw apart. 10 minutes draining fuel, cranking and getting the other 310 running, 1.00 for the fuel he took without asking if it was ok, 2.50 to get rid of his water mix. 5 minutes to pull the muffler and him debating for 10 minutes on whether to tear it apart to see those bearings. All toll about 50.00. Sadly for him its gonna get even worse, hahaha

I think the trick to going to your shop is to leave your money at home and carry a big stick and a sack of chains to sharpen on the spot. :)

No kidding. He is the first customer I've ever dealt with in which I tried to talk him out of buyng a saw he didn't need at all and he still bought it. His Husky saw was like new, only needed a chain adjuster. I guess that money was burning a hole in his pocket or something. Ole Dan and me were having fun with him I must admit but apparently the guy was enjoying it,LOL

I wonder why he didn't just leave, then come here and post about the Stihl dealer who wouldn't sell him a 361.

Ha, you'll be going home to get your wallet and coming back, entertainment is good where I work. How so, this is how.

Today at noon fellow comes in with a big FS250 weed trimmer. He's done yanked the rope out of it. He goes can I get this fixed today. I go depends. He goes on what. I said its lunchtime ya know. He goes yeah. I said you run down to Wendys and get me a No.2 and by the time you get back your trimmer will be ready. He goes are you serious. I go yup, I'm hungry. You can leave it if you want but I'm getting me something to eat. He goes oh noooooooooooo, sure I'll get you a No.2. I go ok. He leaves, I fix his pull cord, he comes back and the machine is waiing on him. He's happy, I'm happy, everyone is happy. Very few places fix anything on the spot, people will even buy a lunch to get that kind of service and boy do I get alot of free No.2's,LOL

Cool sale, Tom. You are da king of sales:)

Yea. Sounds like Tommie is the King allright. I just can't wait to get up there to his shop one day, ask for Elvis, (The King), Tell him I want a BR600, I want a discount, cause I only buy Stihl stuff and give all my business to Stihl so I deserve at least a 10% discount on it, then whip out my AMEX so I can get my 1.25% cash back on the transaction. Let's see how that deal goes down...

Won't tell him I'm an AS member until he chokes on his ice cream and cleans it up off the floor and quits trying to slap me out the door.:buttkick:

Hey thats a good question. I think he just wanted to buy something, anything. His Husky was in super nice condition and I told him so. The way he was acting though I could tell he was intent on spending some money so have at it I say. Oddly he never asked for a penny discount on anything. My kinda customer..

Next thing you know, you'll be charging $120 an hour and asking for a steak dinner. Damn, you are like a lawyer! :)
