Congratulations Tryon and you have a wonderful mom!

GREAT CHOICE!!!!

Screw laptops.. they are obsolete in a couple of years and worth nothing.... the 660 on the other hand... is priceless...

Get yourself a microfiche when you get back in school. They come in handy if you get into fisheries work. :monkey: :monkey:

That and a PhD in a aquatic biology might land you a job that will make ends meet. Whatever you settle on in life - even the logging - Stick at it and you will be fine. The humblest professions are full of the highest caliber people on this earth.

Best of luck and I'm glad to hear your doing this to develop some disciplines. It will serve you well.

my dad owns the biggest concrete company (55 trucks) around here on the coast so i didnt want to rely on my dad for everything...

Sounds to me like you have and you still are. If you weren't, you would have bought the saw with your own money rather than having your parents buy you the new saw. Do you live at home too?

I can tell you that if I didn't have good enough grades to go to college, my parents wouldn't have even helped me move out - let alone buy me a $1000 saw. I guess I sound like an A$$, but I would love to quit my day job, go cut wood for a year, and then have a job waiting for me when I got tired of it, just cause I was the boss's son.

Good pick on the saw. And, I will echo KindlingKing and say "Best of luck and I'm glad to hear your doing this to develop some disciplines. It will serve you well."

You were green once? Say it ain't so Gary!
:(

HAHAHA! picture this... 17 year old tall skinny greenhorn kid (me)... Lead faller thought it would be funny to fill my hard hat with bar oil one mornin'. Luckily I saw what was in it before I dumped it on my head.

How was I to know the greenhorn wasn't supposed to retaliate? I filled his lunch box with 90 wt gear oil... with the lunch still in it.

...backfired!

I was chasin' highline hooks on steep grade, and bringin' everybody their lunch to them for 2 weeks after that. Up, down, up, down... just when I would get the guys their lunches to them... about 150 yards down hill... "Hey rook', how 'bout s'more water?"

"...@#%$*!.... be right back."

The crusty old sawboss looked at me after those 2 weeks and said... "So... ya gonna mess with the vets anymore rookie?"

"Nope."

HAHAHAHA! Good times... good times...:rockn:

Gary

And don't skip out on the schoolin'
Good Luck!!!!

This is GREAT advice!!! I graduated in 2005 thinking I would just take one year off, Then my botfriend and I got a house, now school is on the back burner till some bills get paid off. Wish I would have gone back.Bills Suck!
