Nah, ya gotta be kidding...

What'd they do sell and spruce it up?

Is Gastown still redlight or townhouses now ?

It was bought out by Fairmont Hotels. Maybe not $180, but certainly around there! Gastown is acually both now! It's the trendy place where the well to do go to eat at chic restaurants among the homeless.

Things have changed.
Can't remember any "chic" restaurants.
Good food, street music, and well, other entertainment and some funny tales.

Ok, can someone link me to the Smithsonian sticky

Yep, all that is still there too! Well except for the strip clubs, they're gone now.

First time in late 70's, again late 80's-ealry 90's., that was the last.

Btw, I always thought the people of Vancouver were darn nice.
Nice place.

Yeah, all in all it is a pretty nice place. People are still fairly nice, although that is changing somewhat too.

Good to hear Vancouver hasn't turned into a Seattle.

There was a cable walk across a gorge just outside Vancouver. Can't remember the name. Never was able to cross that gorge, not the height, just the wind coming up the gorge would get it to yawing, Lol!

Spent the night in Port Coquitlam in 1975. IIRC there was quite a strip joint there. Memory is a little fuzzy of that night. Headed up the Pitt River the next morning to a job.

Yep, still there! The Capilano Suspension Bridge. They've added suspended trails in the tree tops and along a sheer rock bluff with a see through bottom. All pretty cool actually!

Were you falling? In Pitt Lake? I've got guys in there right now! Well, technically not right now, shut down for heat! lol

No more IIRC either.

Nope, not falling then. I was doing fisheries work. I was working for a joint US-Canadien Commission on Sockeye salmon. Back then it was BC Forest Product land. Is it still? I actually found my Canadien "Social Security" card just today when I was going through some old paperwork.

Nope, it's changed hands a few times since then. Fletcher Challenge, TimberWest, now Teal Jones. I don't think I missed any others! There's still a hatchery up there in camp.

SlowP,

When you get done with your re-forrestation, and ridding Seattle of the invasive Parasites, I need you to assist with our project here.

Re-introduction of Wolves, Cougars, Bison,Bears and Badgers in the Greater Chitcago and Detroit areas.
Not even gonna bother with Re-forrestation as it will happen naturally as soon as the Limo liberal yuppies and Hippie freaks get eaten.

Where I need your help is in how to plan for errosion to naturally close the Chitcago canals faster, and before the Chitcago flying Carp vote thier way into the Great lakes, and ruin things. Your experience in the matter and help would be appreciated.

Stay safe!

I'll be more than happy to provide the wolves.. Nobody north of Madison wants the dann things here. Come to think of it, I'll drop some off in Madtown on the way there.

Glad them carp ain't made it this far north yet. It would be a cheap alternative to clay pigeons for practice with the scattergun though.
