I posted this in the pioneer thread, but here's my "you suck" that I've been hiding for a few months:

$185(probably overpaid), had to source a recoil, need to pull the broken exhaust studs, and I'm going try the "Husqvarna 365" coil mod that I found on here scrolling through the forum. I also have a pioneer bar(that's been sitting for a few years, it came with another saw) that I think will fit but I have no idea what size it is. All I know is it's big(to me) and I need to get a picture of said bar eventually when i finally drag it inside to actually finish putting it together..

And yes, it's rough. But I think it'll be worth it.

I fail to see the "suckage"

Those big reed saws are fun to run.

Poulan Pro 455 - $60 no haggle price - guy says it ran last time he used it - need to tear into it, but feels like there’s at least some compression there. Been wanting to find another Poulan/Pioneer since I sold the P41 I had a few years back, and this certainly fit the bill.
Well, a little gas down the carb and it fired off - filled the tank and it started right up. Probably need to pull the carb apart and check the innards, and the piston isn’t perfect, but it’s a runner! Now, time to clean her up and get a decent bar and chain on.

You better go buy a lottery ticket just in case you're on a streak or something....nice find!!

I am new to this forum and I wasn't aware of this thread. Another member pointed it out and said I should post here. I have a couple threads on the saws, but here's the condensed version from my 2nd post.

Been looking for a saw. Buddy gave me a Stihl 024 day after Thanksgiving. I have a Milwaukee M18 pole saw, but that's it. Used a few of my buddy's saws over the years but only briefly. Didn't know anything about saws. So I read a bunch of stuff here, watched videos, etc. Ordered tools .. mini pump, block off plates, etc. Went to my local Stihl dealer and got parts...impulse line, carb rebuild kit, fuel line & filter, new caps, spark plug. I have not completed impulse and carb rebuild. It tested good with the old line on. I also learned how and modified the exhaust. Then I made sure I knew how to tune the carb properly. Everything is back together and really works great.

So my buddy that gave me the 024 (he's does tree work) said he had a Husky 41 for me. And my other buddy(he also does tree work) told me yesterday he had a Stihl 026 Pro I could have. They both live pretty close by, so I picked them up today.

So the guy that gave me the 024 & Husky had done a bunch of big jobs for me over the years and was always really reasonable on prices. Helped me out when I had emergency work..like the time a tree fell, knocked over another tree and was laying in the neighbor's(directly behind me) pasture. They had a horse, goats and chickens. Had almost 200'(between the 2 trees) that needed to be cut and moved back to my side so we could close the fence and his animals could be let out of the barn.

He's a little down on his luck lately and works been slow for him. So even though he said the saws were free, I flipped him a $20 for each saw and brought some tasty adult beverages.

Not so long ago I went for a bit of a drive to pick up a 48 inch Duromatic bar- has featured elsewhere on here as it came with 2X 3/8 chains, a Granberg Alaskan MK3 48 inch milling frame and a very low use great condition 2094 Jonsered.
Now that bar retails here for $9 change from $1K- I got the whole lot for less than half that- so maybe it should have featured here as well. :D
But it looks a bit better (if hellishingly nose heavy) on the 075 and wearing a new .404 skip tooth chain.

So, its 31/12/24 here- so here is to more suckage in 2025!
