excuse my enthusiansm because i havent touched a modern saw. you know al light weight and still had power.
anyway , when i raced if the cubic inch limit was 514, i run 514 inches, the only replacement for cubic inches is cubic feet.
i love to hear something grunt and go to work, hopefully i am working toward a fixxer-up 090.
any takers, probably not...............
after being a mechainic for 15 years resurecting something from the dead and using it is quite rewarding. just a thing i have......
please dont think i have taken offense to any of your posts, because believe me i havent....i just want something that will do the job above and beyond, maybe even scare me...............now that is something to look forward too.
i love the 041, plenty of grunt for a stock saw, but i dont think i have ever owned a stock anything........now i need more power..........lots more..
just the ravings of a lunatic...........btw.....thanks for listening......

I prescribe one modified 088 with 36" bar and chisel chain, and call me in the morning. do not take internally.

Find yourself a fixer-upper 064 or 066 (090's bring BIG bucks). An 85 to 95cc modern saw with a 18" or 20" bar will make you giggle cutting firewood.

1/2 of my fleet has been brought back form the dead so I know what you're talking about. My chainsaw obsession began with bringing one back from the dead.

Hello, As you can see from my signiture, all of mine were brought back from the Dead, except for the Poulan. I have lots of fun resurecting these old saw. But be ware, once the bug bites, there's no cure. I sure several can vouch for that here. Take care. Lewis.

i agree lewis i started with one got it running found another and fixed it then i found my new "monster" and am fixen that one two.

you just don't get that big grin on your face when you get a saw that runs as apposed to starting with some thing that resembles a saw and then making a saw out of it. that and the endless hours of good old fashion maintenance.

Wow badcars, good to see you're so pumped. I don't know how old of a saw you're looking for, or how big, but I can recommend the 056. It's a good saw, parts are available, and you can get it in the standard, the Super and the Mag II. They're all big, bad saws, but the Super is a little badder, and the Mag II bad all day long. They're a good, solid saw, and were a favorite of loggers back in their day. They aren't too expensive yet, and you can find fixer-uppers on ebay or pawn shops. I bought my first one last year, and at one time, I owned four of them, in different stages of operation and completion. I'm down to one that I'm rebuilding now, down to a new paint job, and it'll be on ebay hopefully within a couple of weeks. Saws are fun, and there's so many of them to choose from. And you've come to the right place to deal with you new little addiction.... :blob2:
