The Alpina? Not much information out there on the date...70's I'm guessing...maybe early 80's.

Can't say I know anything about a Alpina saw but that one looks good. Longest bar I got is a 30 incher on that 051 I got but you've already seen that old saw. I don't usually bug ya with questions Sap but does that Alpina leak alittle oil?, I see you have it sitting on something. My old 051 leaks a tad too but hell as old as these saws are they earned a right to leak abit. Take care of that old saw Sap, looks good. For fun heres the longest bar I got and trust me I nor anyone else will ever use it, I pity the old guys that did years ago..

Yep, that's from 2.5 yrs ago, Andy. It was the last time I used the bar/chain..got the chain fixed, but the bar tip is rusted and I haven't been able to free it up enough to use....it's the old style Oregon tip with 3 rivets in a partial circle radius...doubt you guys would have any.....

Call Steve EARLY tomorrow morning.. We have a box of old style tips, and replacement sprockets... just for guys like you.

Really shoud fix that shed roof.. it''s starting to cost you!:buttkick:

And where might that be ole freind, ole buddy, ole slapstick of mine, hmmmmm??? Do you really got one that looks as good as that one????

Thanks, Andy.

Here's another funny old shot that gypologger posted. In March 2002, Stihl quit selling 090's in canada, mainly cause someone ratted out gypo who had been buying them and selling them to folks in the States..

yep... Not mine but it's for sale... Bar not as pretty (before they painted them), but the saw is. The bar is the old original type with the big open wheel on the end. Looks very cool. Almost NO wear on the bar... I'll try to dig up some pix but it will be tomorrow.

Thanks for the pic rb, that is one that I hadn't seen.

The one I'm thinking of is with Gypo standing, and the saw is standing next to him, with the sprocket nose about a foot above his head!!

Anybody have that one???

Andy

I remember that shot, but I do have the one of gypo holding a 372 in front of his bare ass naked bod, save for cowboy boots... the same 372 that I later won on ebay ..don't wanna doity up sap's great thread with all that skin...

Been looking for the shot of Babcock running his piped 3120KD, while clad in a business suit...

Get that pic and find out what they want for it, sounds like the ultimate collector saw to me..................

OK, so it's got to be a real long bar, not a photoshopped bar like that last photo (good job on that by the way).

What is your logic behind that statement?

If somebody called your mother, sister or wife a crack ho' (and for the sake of discussion we will say the the statement is untrue), would that bother you? It bothers you but it isn't true, imagine that.

Every post that you make takes a jab at Stihl by means of your avatar and signature. That will probably continue to provoke people which, I have no doubt, is your childish goal. Did you have other siblings that got all of the attention? Were you picked on a lot when you were a kid? Why the FCUK do you keep this **** up? It is NOT normal behavior.
How so? What's not "normal' is how your (and others) panties get all in a bunch over a stupid avatar and sig ....a avatar and sig about a company that doesn't give a hoot about you, no less.

And no, you can call my mother and sister "ho's" all you like....it certainly doesn't make them one, nor bother me that you call them that. My mom's a ho. See?

Again, usually the only way that type of thing is effective is when you 'resemble that remark'. :)

A lot of people post avatars and signatures here pimping all manner of nonsense. Why let mine bother you?

And gee, larry....your login name "larrythecableguy" annoys me.....but you don't see me whining and crying about you changing it, do you?
(By the way, I saw that namesake moron on the repeat of the roast of that other idiot Foxworthy the other night.
"You may be a redneck....if you think foxworthy or larrythecableguy is funny". HAHAHA!)

Some earn the right to leak, but some get dropped.
LOL! More sour grapes from a guy with only short bars. Nothing to contribute there shoe? No big trees up there in the rockies? Go sit in the truck.

Uh, you pros are supposed to grease those rollers before/after every use, eh?

They all leak oil sooner or later. Mine leak corn oil, so it's no big deal. The old cardboard is more to protect the bottom of the saw from the concrete than vice versa...see the bar spray pattern on it?
And the funny thing is....now that I've got it all 'purtied up it doesn't seem to leak near the amount of oil that it did :)

Anyways...good pics so far. Show 'em if you've got 'em.
(And if you don't have 'em....feel free to whine, cry, complain, insult, and make a general arse of yourself to compensate for your inadequacy.)

Here is a pic of a 066 I had with a 32 on it. I needed a trans in my truck more then I needed the saw.
