Looking for a project saw got a question

I kinda want to take a cheap hardware store saw and tinker with it. Are there any of the cheap saws that respond well to modifications. I kinda want a sleeper saw so to speak. I wouldn't really use this saw for anything just playing from time to time and making alot of noise in the shop.

Bow saw........ they really liven up when you take the cardboard off the blade

If it's gotta be on the cheap, I'd rather go with an old, beat, used pro saw, rather than an el-cheapo new saw. Alot of those saws are going to be in the same boat as your 310 with their inherent design limitations. You can smooth ports and that sort of thing, but for some saws, rasing, lowering, widening ports may not be doable.

Parts saws are everywhere.

Fishhuntcutwood is right,get a used pro saw instead.You get a better design engine,much easier to tune than an el cheapo one and used parts should be easy to get.

Marco , you're in rare form lately . Makes me wonder how many have used a bow or buck saw . I want to guess that it was a trotting mule that left the steaming trail .
