Which do you generally prefer?
I'm sure they're both good. But do either of them have backorder issues, customer service lacking?
I posted this under chainsaws, because that's what I'd be shopping for. Or related accessories.
They might just be six of one, half a dozen of the other. Just thought I'd ask and see where to spend my dollars.
Thanks,
Mitch

Almost EVERYONE who's done business with baileys thinks they are great. I've never heard of a problem with them.

if you have a problem with them, they'll do what it takes to make it right with you.

Bailey's bent over backwards to find a lost Fedex shipment for me this year. They took care of it all with fedex and called and told me what fedex had done and was very nice about answering my questions. I just order rims, chains, bars, tools, etc through them. Couldnt say about saw dealings. Will buy from them again though.

i have only used Baileys...great service, communication, and shipping. i never tried madsens so i cannot coment on them.

What a troll.

Bailey's is great. I got a chain from them that some jerk had returned after trimming some nails, or something.

They were cool about it.

Use Bailey's.

just ordered a batch of chains, tools, etc from Madsons. they really bent over backwards to help me on a odd rim issue.

been using information off the madsen site for quite sometime. so felt it was only right to sent a few $$ their way.

same for Baileys, excellent customer service. will be sending a few $$ their way. AS site sponsors need to be supported.

really prefer supporting local dealers first, but when pricing is double and they have to order it. something is not quite right about that combo. A little higher pricing is fine from local dealers, I expect it. but won't put up with double pricing and no inventory.

two loops of stihl 3/8 .50 84 links for 24in bar costs $65 from local dealers.

Baileys and Madsens

I was really surprised to see in Centralia and Chelasis Washington, both right close to Madsens, that there are local saw dealerships. I didn't think they could compete with those prices. Support your local dealer is a belief held up there.
That area still has a fair number of log trucks moving around with logs (I'm not making this up) on them.
At Madsens, they appear skeptical of you when you buy 50 gauge and not 58 ga bar and chain supplies. Another sign of the serious logger sub-species.

I second the both Madsens and Baileys. We're lucky to have them.

Many of you reading this need to do what I did. Find a buddy and split a roll of chain. Costs drop to 10-15 bucks a chain (20-32 inch bar). That is for the round filed stihl stuff.
