Yea they have run plenty of cheap stuff through the Makita label from other people that I wouldn't buy. I realize all brands have that cheap low end stuff, but I wouldnt buy it.
And NO! The Dolmar 222 = Makita 230T

3410. I have a new one in the shop. (only been started at the dealer)
I have never heard of any dealer that Makita wants them to buy high volumes! I can only assume that it has to do with the local distributer.
Why would you need that? Pro members here have run hundred's of refill's through there 421 and not needed anything. I find the dealer argument highly questionable! What for on a brand new saw? For carb adjustments? Personally I would prefer going to any mom & pops store where carb adjustments have been done since decades, but any small engine mechanic should be able to do it easily! My Stihl dealer even does it for free on all type of brands.
Further there are enough great Dolmar dealers here in the forum that spare parts are one personal message away! So for me there is a lot of paranoia going on with the "need to have a dealer close by"...
Personally I find the 421, 5105, 6100 & 7910 the most atractive. If you consider an older modell the 115i is still being made today! So that sure tells something about the following a saw has! Of course you could spend a small fortune on the dolmar wankel saw, etc.

Interesting. Is it a twin the the 3410?
Looks pretty much identical from what I can see.
I did not know that. What model is it Steve? It's a saw that never made it over here.
Tell us more, please. There is something unique about it

Now you have the wheels turning up stairs...Here's a hint
It has no choke
Sounds good! Thank you very much Steve! You should have a box on Monday!
Take a look at all those top handles closely. NONE of them are a zenoah. But if they were I'd be tickled! The 3800/4500's are awesome saws!It would be really odd if a current Makita turned out to be a rebranded Zenoah, as Zenoah is owned by Husky. Isn't Dolmar able to make the saws Makita wants to sell?

This saw has nothing to do with the Zenoah/RedMax G2500. But it is made by another manufacturer. Any guesses?
This saw was designed by the Dolmar/Makita engineers. Early production I believe may have been made in Japan.
36cc Strato
I have had a couple of Makita (Yamabiko) 231t's for a couple of years. ....

Made from 2003-2004
PS3400TH
OPPS is there an ECHO in here?Careful there tiger... there are some small top handles and other small rear handles that were not made by Dolmar... IF the saw below was made in red I would know about it. Although to be fair there weren't many of these release to the US market.
NopeSolo, or Efco?
Yes35.2cc. Is it the same as the PS-352?
Are you saying the 231t was made by Echo?
To me it looks like a variant of the PS-222?
Agree - but I don't remember what made it more attractive than the 3410. Less EPA crap?
