Yes, well kinda I have both echo and shindaiwa products with Yamabiko Japan on their plates but it looks particulary close to the echo 260tes....it IS diifferent in displacement but many parts look near exact so my gues is they have had their hand in it somehow.Are you saying the 231t was made by Echo?
To me it looks like a variant of the PS-222?

There is/was a PS-220, PS-221, & PS-222. Looks like there were different carburetors on each. Also had different RPM ranges.Are you saying the 231t was made by Echo?

Having the 18 inch as back up is always a good idea.I was thinking the same thing. I will probably put a 16" bar on. I have all kinds of chain for that length as well.
