what pogo said... never seen a push button saw before

They are pretty rare. If I didn't know the price it brought, I would have kept mine. I didn't cut with it though. It was a shelf queen.

I believe Mcculloch made 3 models. 3-10E, 5-10E, 10-10E

Thanks everyone! Of the electric start 10 series. I think the 3-10 and 10-10 are the most common. With the 5-10 being quite rare. But I believe the rarest is the super 10-10E. I've only seen it in IPL's.

Now that I know it all works properly I can build a proper battery pack for it. That will be expensive. 10 ni-cd cells at around 7 bucks each! Also does anybody have a bar and chain in 354 pitch for my 3-10E?

I can't help with the bar and chain.

I can help with the battery pack though. I took my pack to Batteries Plus and they built a new one for $35. They use NiMH sub C cells at 1.2 volts each.

Get a replaceable rim from a 10 series and put it to 3/8 plenty of mac bars around. Tried that on my 10-10 I didn't like the cut. I still got the fixed rim clutch bell that is that the bar had bad rails if I trued it there wouldn't be much bar left.

I thought about ni-mh batteries. They are much cheaper and eaiser to come by. The manual just says ni-cd but then again that was in the 60's.

A lot of the time you can buy a cheap harbor freight rechargeable battery pack to dissasemble for parts cheaper than new loose cells. Even if it comes with a free drill...

I would like to keep it 354 if possible. Just cause its a unique saw and all. I had 354 on my 10-10 and it cut just fine but the chain was almost new. If I knew what I did now I would have kept the bar and chain from it.

I have about 20' of .354 -.058 chain if that is what you want. Have some bars for McCulloch. What length do you want. I assume the E-saws use the same bars as the non electric start saws.

Outstanding indeed, and done rather quickly as well.

If you use a hard nose 16" bar I can set you up with a couple of good used .354 chains. Just let me know if your bar is .050 or .058 gauge.

Don't let out who sent you such a wreck to begin with or no one will want to do business with that clown.

Anybody know where to get .404 54 drive 58. My place where I get my chains wants $30 and it has to be orderd

Does the PM700 have some type of governer in the carb?

The carburetor does not have a governor. In the hundreds of Mcculloch saws I've rebuilt, I have found one coil that was governed.

I still have that governed coil. I believe this coil has a malfunction because it's the only one I've seen.

You beat me to it Ted. I was building a DE80 when I ran into the same problem. I thought it was the carb but a coil swap fixed my problem.

I got the oil pump clips finished last night, I'm a bit worried that the stainless I used doesn't have enough spring in it to hold.

I'm sending them to Mark to test. If they don't work, I have a plan B, it'll just take a while longer to get done.

Meanwhile, if anyone would like a copy of my somewhat crude "print" for these, let me know and I'll post it here.
