Tim - if it has decent compression, grab it. I have no doubts you can find a good home for it here somewhere if you don't keep it. I am down to 2 PM800's right now, could always use an extra few around. I would even pay a bonus for one with the coarse thread compression release above the muffler and no Q port...

Cobey - the OEM carburetor for the CP 70 is rather unique with larger throttle bore than other SDC's, like the PM800 with the compression release, I would pay a bonus to have a few extra SDC18, 19, 20, or 22 carburetors.

I did notice another McCulloch carburetor guide in the latest bunch of literature I picked up that seems to have some additional carburetor not listed in the SI-29 book.

If I ever get to spend some time at home and/or in the office I will try to get the later guide scanned and make it available.

I got a real nice CP-70 someone stuck a 10-10 carb on it, if I cant find a carb it might go live with AWOL

There was a PM 800 for sale at the local shop last time I was in there. Clutch cover had a chunk gone out of it back by the muffler was the only thing wrong with it.

If you're not interested in that saw, I would be since mine is just going to be a pile of parts without a piston/cylinder.

I have to meet Stihl Livin' at the shop this week to give him back his crock pot from this past weekend at treemonkey's. I'll get some pics of the PM 800. It does run and other than the clutch cover it is in overall good shape with a 20" bar. But I think there might be a few more 800's at the old Mac shop over in MN. Thought about buying it myself but with 2 PM 700's and a Super 250 I don't really need it other than just to have one. However I am still looking for a Mac 660 geardrive...

It's been a really tough decision to come to, but I've decided to let go of my pile of project saws. I know somebody out there NEEDS this stuff. All should be considered parts saws simply because I just don't have the time to go through them. Here's the list:

Mac 10-10 Automatic m/n 600002U s/n 10-
Pro Mac 10-10 Automatic m/n 6000013U s/n 13-
Pro Mac 10-10 Electronic Edition tag missing
Pro-Mac 10-10S m/n 600111-02 s/n 11-
Pro Mac 800 m/n 600072D s/n 11- has spark but piston/cylinder are scored

and a couple odd balls:

John Deere 50V
John Deere 55V
Homelite 150 Auto

PM me if interested and I'll try to answer any questions you might have.

Jeff

ODW - for some reason, I can't reply to your message.

And I forgot to mention, I think only two of the above have bars with them.

I had a terrible time trying to PM 2Twannabe about his saws and right now I don't know how I did it. Could someone tell me how to PM another member on this new system.

Thanks

ODW

Note: I may have figured it out. ODW

You should be able to click on their username under their avatar and then a box will pop up giving you several options. Click on start a conversation. I received your message but I couldn't reply. I think you need to go to your profile and change your contact information so you can receive messages from all members or click on my user name and then click on follow. I suspect you currently only receive messages from those members you follow.

Looks like we now need to go to our own inbox and then start a new conversation from there instead of just being able to click on a user screen name for the option to start a conversation like it used to be. I notice they changed the 'like' option as well, but it is now back to being they way it was. Hope they also return to the previous 'start conversation' option.

For those who may have missed it, the Phil MS661 Raffle also has an auction component where the winner of the auction also gets his auction price in entrys to the raffle as well.
There is a nice 028 Super and also this set of Mac literature. Auction ends Monday morning at 9Am, so if you are inclined, bid it up boys, it is for a good cause.

Sorry folks, the PM 800 was sold during the last 2 weeks I didn't get over there. He might have one or 2 out in the parts shed, but no guarantees. He also has a bin labeled "OLD-Old Macs" too, I'll see what's in there again, too. Guess we'll have to put a trade on hold Mark, unless there's something else your looking for. (McCulloch or non-McCulloch)

I need some help fellas. I was at a scrap yard today and came across a bunch of saws. I brought home a couple but there are more that I can't get to yet because the fella has them stored in truck beds stacked on top of each other.

I found a big Mac, its buried. It semi resembles a 125 from what I can see but it has a couple distiguishing features. On both sides of the handle at the top are two square buttons. Underneath there is a door that is hinged that opens into the handle area. I have been searching Acres to see what it is but haven't come across anything yet. My phone was not cooporating and I didn't get pics. Any ideas?

Well the door or hood, as some call it, sounds like an older Mac than a sp125 or cp125. Google 125's and then a 797 and you should notice a few differences. Does it have a gear drive? Is it left or right hand start? Decomp button or is it a lever. Rubber AV or solid mounted? Send pictures for greater assistance.

Its a left hand starter. The saw wouldn't budge. Its so buried amongst others. He is going to call me when he gets it all seperated.

When trying to identify older macs, I have had good success by entering "vintage McCulloch chainsaws" under Google. Normally, a group of small images appears. Click onto those images and they take you into a mind-boggling amount of info. I have close to 100% positive results identifying saws that way. Once you have identified the model, enter it on Mike Acres for the specs.

Hopefully, they didn't beat up your new find too badly by throwing it around like just another piece of scrap. Good luck

I just used the method I described above to answer a question I had about a pair of 35's I have here. The complete one has a rubber spark plug cover, which is obviously factory. The other one is PHO and it has a metal one. At first, I thought it was home made, but after I popped it open I discovered it was on a hinge. I went into those images, and sure enough, they made 'em both ways. Of course, I suppose everybody on here already knew that!
