Very observant jethro. I didnt notice that. My latest pm800, de80, and 8200 all have that. My other pm800 does not?? Hmmm. Makes me wonder also......
Yea what's it for I wonder? seems odd to go and change all the molds for no reason
It is interesting as the saw does not have a DSP valve and it has the earlier clutch cover that doesn’t have a cutout for the DSP all of which if original point to an early PM800. The tank points to a later model. Maybe the tank was replaced or it was one of the first with the band.
I am sure there was some good reason for the tank design change, but I don’t the reason.

You are very observant Jethro - I looked through photos that I have and none of the PM800's have that tank style, but the PM805, DE80, PM 850 Super, and PM8200 all do have it so it was clearly a later edition.

Ed, just come on down one Saturday and we will put one of those big saws in your hands. I don't know about driving the JD tractors, you will have to ask Ron on that after he buys either that one or one like it.... I just have an old Ford 2610 tractor. It's not a fancy as Ron's or the one he is going to buy. One day I am going to buy him a hood for his. May be for his birthday or make him one out of duct tape....lol

me and my kiddo done some cutting im the rain today got tired of waiting on it to stop.wish i would,have gotten the mini 35 wearing out the top end dang it! we were soaked gage didnt want to stop[emoji16]thats my boy!!

Does the decomp valve have anything to do with age as in was it option later on. Was the 805 around at the same time as the 800 or was the 800 ended. Or is it a classic example of marketing and parts bins of what ever.
