I ended up stealing the switch off my 610 build from last summer (had problems with it & wouldn't run right).I got it al;l together & noticed the needle grommet is missing,but it fired right up & ran beautifully on about the 4th or 5th pull.That 610 has great compression.


So when I had the 610 build from last summer apart to sdteal the switch out of it,I noticed the FW was loose.Me being a dumb *** & always in a hurry forgot to tighten down the FW nut.I took care of that & put the recoil back on & hoped that it'd start & run fine as I'd replaced the FW side crank seal (the other PTO seal was replaced before I started putting it together).It does run,but it idles hi & lo & I had to turn the needles out more than usual.It's got an air leak somewhere that I can't figure out.I guess I'll have to tear it down & start from scratch & try to get it right.
 
Got to tinkering on the Super 33 today now that it's had a few days soaking on the shop floor. Points looked dang near new, point push rod was seized up, was able to get that out and give it a polish. Filed points and dumped some pre-mix down the carb and it barked right off. doesn't seem to be picking fuel up quite yet but I'm sure the diaphragm is super dry. It'll pop off the primer a little. Gonna let it sit with fuel in it for a bit before I rush off to order a carb kit. Oil pump works, needed a little tap on the handle.
 
The fuel filter (wick) and fuel pump are in the bottom of the fuel tank. You may need to remove the fuel tank cover (bottom) to get at the parts. Items 36-48 are all involved.

I have the parts (NOS, emphasis on O), I think Rallyeguy and Cinci5 both have some or all of the parts reproduced.

I am trying to sort through DSP valves I have accumulated, the problem with collecting parts over a period of years from multiple sources is the parts don't always come correctly identified. I've done my best to get them identified along with some information on where they are used.

By the same token, if you know that any of these are incorrectly identified please let me know so I can try to get in information corrected.

I ended up popping for a carb/fuel pump kit from Rallyeguy just in case it doesn't come around. It's actually pretty clean inside just has lots of gunk from use and then sitting it less than climate controlled conditions.
 
I was messing around with it after dinner and managed to break the starter rope, I got the recoil torn off and apart since it needed the dirt/dust/oil scraped out anyway so I'm down to just the spool and a little chunk of rope left in it.

Timed it well. I'm heading out of town this Friday. I won't be shipping anything after Feb 2 until Feb 12... I'll be on line, just no access to be able to ship unfortunately..... and it's just me making/shipping everything...

I ernded up working out a pretty good deal with the seller.I got 2 more 610 saws,a Monkey Wards 3.7,a parts 610,Timver Bear,& PM 605 along with a parts lot.I would've had another 610,but someone put a bid in on it while I was making offers on the others.I guess I'll be busy for a while on these saws.Mark,I may be ordering more 600 series parts....

Son Jeff was helping me again this week, one thing led to another and we ended up going through the 10 Series shrouds. So many subtle little differences and way too many different part numbers in the IPL's Jeff was pulling his hair out...

By looking through saws on hand and picking part numbers from the IPL's I think we managed to identify the parts. It was also clear that some of the parts came with numbers written on them that were not correct.

I think we are done for now anyway.

Interesting to note that judging by the patina of the oxidation, some of the earliest one appear to have been made from magnesium rather than aluminum.
