Fuel tank cork

Howdy. Is there an alternative to sealing the tanks other than the fuel tank cork gaskets? I see Randy lists one for $12.99 :dizzy:

Nice 250. Chokeless Tilly? Never seen that or that HL casting number before...

Ya that not the way my 1-51 is eithier. im not sure if its supposed to have one i figured its supposed to since it has 2 push buttons. but niether one is a locking button like my 1-51so im not sure it made me curious as well im trying to track down a IPL and Shop Manual for it. its last four numbers underneath are 6120.

Why does everyone hate mcculloch outside of AS?

Me and Igpoe go to a lot of antique shows and display our old saws. I always take a lot of macs with me. Everyone I talk to at these shows has something to say negative about mcculloch chainsaws, whether it was from there experiences or someone they knew. That's one reason I like showing my macs off so much because people are always amazed at there performance. They can never get over the fact that they will crank and run. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I haven't shown mine (yet) so I have no experience that way, but most of my friends and aquiantances know I'm into saws and the topic comes up. Might be a regional thing, but most around here have nothing to say at all about McCullochs except that they're "big". I reckon not many around here have ever run one. Homelites, on the other hand, seem universally reviled here. I suspect the current box store offerings feed that, but I find myself defending big red far more often than big yellow.

10-10

Hi all. Just picked up a McCulloch 10-10 auto and have a ?. Why would this saw rev to full throttle when started and not idle down? I won't be able to tear into it until the weekend but would like to get opinions on where I should start looking. I checked the High and low screws and did not see anything for idle adjustment. I'm wondering if this is a common problem or if someone has had the same issue and what they did to cure it. Does anyone have a down-loadable IPL for the 10-10 auto? Thank you.

There is a throttle lock by the trigger check to make sure it is not jammed...Nice saw

It was stuck in but I could still use the trigger. When I pull the trigger it acts like it is going to flood out. Later I did notice the trigger lock was dis engaged and I am still having the problem. Is the throttle lock not tied into the trigger like most saws?

My 1-40 has the cup type choke, the carb has no provision for one.

Yo Stinkbait, I endured many moments of rude remarks about my yellow saws.
Mostly from the two pulls to start Homelite guys, the rest because I tend to run 20cc more than needed.

That mentality carries over into the motorcycle arena also, along with cars, boats, women, etc., etc. .... so, yeah, I know what you mean. You just want to strangle some of those dumb SOBs. The chainsaw snobs, not the woman...:hmm3grin2orange:

Pro mac 10-10

Looking for an air filter cover for my Pro Mac 10-10. I got a cover from a member for a 10-10 Automatic that won't fit this saw. Will a cover off of the PM 710 or other Pro Mac saws work on mine?
