Did you have a nice long weekend Chris?

I answered those questions of your's, got any more?

Did the day job thing, split wood and put trim in the house. Been a busy man, but not with saws, really. Got to working on my 1-72 last night for about an hour. Should have it all put back together pretty soon.

Was outside splitting some wood the other morning, there was a couple of guys working on the place next door that got to talking to me about firewood and saws. I asked him what saws he ran, "a Poulan and a Husky" was his answer. Had to buck a couple of pieces, pulled out the PM 850, after I shut it down his words were "that's one hell of a saw, man." So I pulled out the S550 and the 1-76 for good measure.

God, I love running yeller in the morning, the wood is defenseless.

Thanks for answering Randy, I'm sure I will have more for you.

How's things south of the Cascades and west of the Sierras?

Chris

Things are calm and dry at this time, subject to change without notice. The Cascades are directly east, the Sierras are southeast a ways. I think the dividing line is the Feather River, I might be off on that.
Been gearing up for the PNW GTG, it's less than two weeks away. Aaron will be by on Thursday night, we will be headed north and east Friday morning.

GTGs are great man. Hope you both have a good and safe trip. Lots of heavy mag in the PNW to play around with, I'm sure.

If you guys happen to get pulled over on your trip I feel bad for the trooper, he's surely in for a whole line of interesting words between the two of ya.

Chris

LOL!!
We always play by the rules, besides Aaron carries the star, I have to go with my natural talent of looking harmless.

Loads of heavy saws, I'll have at least two 100c or better and the Supers.
I think I might just tie one on Friday night.

Yesterday, ah, no, today is Thursday, it was Tuesday....eh.
I see the guy with the McCullochs, he is building a pile of old hulks. Out of the 8 saws there, 6 were PM81Es, landing saws, beat to hell.

My main interest is in later 10-series Macs, but for some reason I keep getting this hankering to own a "cinder block" (i.e. PM605/610).

Do the cinder blocks have 10-series engines in them, or are they something different?

Hanker hanker hanker ....

Can't entirely answer your question, still a bit of a Mac noob ...

I'm working on a PM 610 right now. Cleaning and almost ready for re-assembly. Parts should be arriving any day now. PM me if you acquire a project and need parts, I have a parts saw.

Yep. We shouldn't have much of a problem, at least in Ca. My creds carry somewhat less weight with the Oregon guys. Still.............as long as Randy behaves himself we should get by with a scolding from an Oregon trooper at most. My truck ain't no speed demon anyways...:jester:

Something different. It's roughly the same displacement, and a few things like bucking spikes interchange between the 610 family and some of the 10-10's. Other than that, they're wholey different animals.

I can see it now.....

In the deep wooded creekbeds, wooded plateaus and mountaintop ridgelines of the Pacific Northwest Emperor Chicken Kabob and Officer Aaron At Your Service careen down secondary roads. Through the morning mist the sound of 2 strokes can barely be heard over the screams of life from the softwoods being taken that morning.

Believed to be antiquated and obsolete, dinosaurs made of cast magnesium roar to life on a little fuel mix. Decidedly they are not antiquated and obsolete, but outlawed for the sheer brutality they inflict on soft and hardwoods alike.

Have fun guys!

Randy, if you see a pretty air filter cover with a SP81E decal, let me know. I have not been able to find one for my SP81E project. I have a nice SP81 AF cover but I would like to have the correct decal. Thanks, Ron

I will look Ron, they were rough, landing saws get beat. They are from the same batch that 850 came from, I am hoping there are a couple good P&Cs in that pile. There are two fairly nice (comparatively) saws there, a PM60 and a PM55.

Thanks. I may have a lead on a NOS cylinder. PM me if you want me to inquire about it. You wouldn't have an IPL for a Super Pro 70? I just got a disassembled one from an AS member. If I can find all the little pieces I think I'll have a real nice saw. Ron

Looks like I'm getting an SP81 from Norm's friend. Haven't seen the saw yet. May need parts from that load of SP81E stuff if you get it...

Great pics Chris!!! It's what I needed after an 11 hour day crushing numbers in the loser cruiser.

I'm full of Devil's Cut, fightin' a recalcitrant water heater, and longin' for the bench and some kart saw construction.

They'll get there boys. Discovered yesterday that I get to disassemble the 791R's MC-91b just to install the nut on the flywheel side for the rear handle bottom bracket... Gotta pull the inside flywheel cover to do it. Guess I ought to at least do the seals while I'm there. MORE project delays.

Do have a line or 2 on a sloper intake for the 101 to go in the SP frame. Giggity.

I think I have the model number right 600439, there were a few. Some were mostly complete, some are stripped, all were beat. Covers and such won't be a problem, P&Cs are in unknown condition, no B&Cs.
