PM 610 clutch question here ...

So I got the 610 running today and noticed that the chain rolls when I try to start it. It this normal (I've never noticed before) or do the clutch springs need replacing?

Hey ShopMonkey!

I have apparently been anointed the title of 'WingNut' by Pope RandyMac ....

Just want to let you know you aren't alone! :ices_rofl:

P.S. I just think he's still stingin' a bit over the 'Red Hat Incident'

Yo, what's up Wingnut?

Congrats!!!! The emperor has given you a position in the shop!!!! :ices_rofl::ices_rofl:

I tout my ShopMonkey moniker proudly, all the way to the next promotion, and hopefully not to the next demotion.

theiroff is probably right about the nut being too tight, causing the drum to bind. I did that to some stupid POS poulan I had, long before I realized I had yellow fever in hiding... realized the nut was too tight, backed it off, and snugged it down, but not as tight.

Though it's pretty hard to not figure out how an overtightened nut can cause a chain to move when pulling a saw over... you probably know that already, since you obviously aren't in the same IQ range as an average houseplant...

Piston should be out for shipping today, waiting to hear back with a tracking code from the guy that got his paws on it for me.

Yeah, that 'red hat thing' didn't do well for him. I am not gonna ask what that incident was, even though I honestly don't know what everyone is talking about in terms of 'red hat incident' Unless you're talking about him being sent to band camp, then I get you.

P.S. Band camp is scary...

It appears it was an overtorqued nut after all .. I had one too many shims in there and in the wrong place, but logic tells me this was a 'no effect' error .... corrected and tightened with a bit less zeal .... and it's good!

Need to tune the carby tomorrow or Sunday ...

The Red Hat Incident has its roots in a recent PNW GTG .... if you look back in the Mac thread, you will no doubt see the pix.

Ah, your refreshed my feeble memory. Yeah, I'd be sore and pissed after something like that too.

That doesn't bug me, much. I'll never out live it though.

I am no Pope, I do have a handle on a game site of ERB1, Emperor Rat Bastard the First.
I earned it for being "Deliberately Ruthless", I do love a good war of attrition.

This is one of my Mega-Forts being attacked. The pic only shows about half of it.

DAMMIT RANDY! YOU'RE CAUSING ME TO HAVE FLASHBACKS HERE!

A buddy once developed a take-off on a WWII board game, but he called his 'Fortress Europe' .... it was only a board game in the sense it was played on a board ..... the size of TWO ping-pong tables ..... games were annual and typically lasted 3 days .... true story!

ERB1, do you not sleep? Shepherding this flock of MAC fledglings, defending multiple Mega-Forts, keeping the hippies at bay, responding to mindless inquiries as mine, etc - where do you find the time? Ron

Ha ha ha
I have been banned from two multi-player sites due to my tactics.
The Reverse Trojan Horse is one of my favorites.

Ha ha, people hate it when they are constantly outsmarted. I really like games like that, but my attention span is way to short. I lose interest to fast, I need lots of shiny objects:laugh:.
