The SP40 is basically the same saw as the 510, essentially a Mini Mac that you can service the carburetor without completely disassembling the engine from the housing.

Nice little top handle saws, if a bit dated.

Now that's a Mini Mac I'd be happy to let into my barn...

I picked up a super clean saw for another member here... he wanted a 250... and so I put the pedal to the metal and went and got the thing as fast as I could so it wouldn't disappear in front of our eyes and get us all mad and frustrated that we missed out on a really good deal, that would've pissed us off...

Wow, new record for longest rambling run-on sentence on AS!!

Okay, like I said, it's a 250, and a super clean one to boot, original bar and possibly chain, only thing wrong with it is it needs a carby kit and a new air box plug that covers up the hole for tuning the carb. It has already been "cobbled" with a new plastic strip held on by two screws... I reckon that ain't a big deal. Hell, I'd paint the plastic strip yellow and keep using it, if it were my saw... :D

Hmm... what now? Waiting for the darned Wing Nut to answer my pm... maybe he doesn't want the saw... that's okay, I'll keep it... :greenchainsaw:

Yes, I told the guy to call me if he finds any more... hopefully he will.

Been so busy around here that I keep forgetting to call for quotes on boring the cylinder. Did an oil change on pop's Taurus today. Before you even ask, I use Bosch Premium oil filters, and Valvoline Premium Conventional oil. Great combo. Haven't had a problem for the past some years I've been doing these changes.

Ouch! Faced!! :dizzy:

He sent me one, but the next one met the full inbox warning alert box thing.

Lol, I was just exaggerating the situation... I keep lots of old important pm's regarding parts, etc in that box... I need more space, dammit!! :dizzy:

Remember that your 70 PM storage capacity isn't only refering to your inbox. It's the TOTAL PM number. Inbox, any files you create and move PM's to..................and your SENT box. Clean that sucker out. I agree that we need more PM storage space. Out of all the VBulletin boards I belong to, this is the only one with less than a 100 PM capacity. Most are 200 or over. I try to keep my PM's here to 50-55 total or so. Lot's of "irons in the fire", contact info, and such to save. You can download the PM's to your computer for storage too. Gonna do that myself soon to free up space here...

Thanks for the help on the 7-10. I checked after it sat over night and the fuel didn't run out if it. It also seems to start easier. As for the RPM, where it is set seems to be real close. It's wearing a 20" bar and when I dig the dawgs in it smooths out and pulls hard. I was just unsure of how fast it ran so I checked it. I thought upper 11's was high. Thanks again

ok i will

Please post pix, so we can get a clearer idea of what you have ...

The carby kit (RB-82) is about $14 on fleaBay right now. If you have a distributor shop near you it should be a bit less.

Waitin' for pix .....

ok sure will its dark right now so manyana...

thats it just like that no chain brake though....

I've got a SP 40 like the one pictured. I don't like the single adjust carb and the choke is kinda flimsy but it cuts pretty good for 40cc's. I use it alot building fences and it always shows up for work.

Scroll down to the very bottom, there you can save your emails to your own computer. I save mine as text.

Download all Private Messages as:
XML | CSV | Text

-- of course more PM room would be nice, but that's out of my sphere of influence.

I have a bunch saved as .txt, they are there but a bit jumbled. Does XML or CSV make for a "cleaner" file?

CSV is going to be spreadsheet which would be a nightmare for e-mails.

Right you are, young Wendell.

One thing you must remember is that if you 'check' multiple messages, it saves them all into just one file. That being said, I did download tests on all three formats. We already know that CSV sux. XML is a bit easier on the eyes and opens in your browser. The TXT format option is bit harder on the eyes but the info is there.

The real effect is, that to save messages as a personal archive, it will require just a tad bit of work on each of our parts.

Personally, I will be just checking them all periodically to create an archive before I delete them.

Just tryin' to help ....

Man, I'm having so much fun stirring the #### pot over in the Poulan Thread... :jester: Kinda like when RandyMac (Sir Emperor the Great) #### all over the Homelite Thread... :buttkick: :hmm3grin2orange:

While I'm at work, I'll ask a guy a work with if his buddy who has 4 Bridgeport Mills happens to have a machine that can with reasonable precision, bore the 790 cylinder.

I'm thinking if that guy has 4 Bridgeports, a bunch of huge ass 5+ hp wire wheel buffers, etc. that he may have a machine shop...

We'll see. Hopefully I remember to ask him tomorrow.

Yes, but you are starting to smell up the shop with all this #### stirring. A little goes a long ways over there, as I have found here BTW.

Yep, when MM hinted that I'd better go back to hanging out in the Mac thread, I realized I'd better shut up...
