hey guys, i may have the opportunity to pick up a 101AA motor that is complete. i don't know anything about this motor like how it compares to the 101B. whats the story on this 101AA? will it go in a Mac saw? the guy wants to trade it for one of my SP81's. :help:

I'm bumping this up to hopefully find out if there is any reason that I can't put one in a SP125 frame. I could hopefully find my way around the incorrect threaded PTO. Thanks.

Here is some info on the 101, its a great source for kart info. McCulloch Championship Kart Racing Engines ............. The threads shouldnt be a problem, I believe one way is keyed and the other is not.

In two words: Not cheap.

The "5 cube" (82cc) 10-series like the SP81, PM800, PM805, PM850 are the most desirable Macs and bring crazy prices. There were a few on the popular auction website recently that brought $350+.

PM700s are a little better, running in the $200-$300 range. I'm tempted to sell mine if the market stays where it is.

7-10s are not quite as desirable. You can get one for <$200.

To get a 5 cube saw at a decent price it's a matter of right place, right time.

What is the problem with the 10-10? Did they just make too many of them that they're not rare enough. I put a decent one on the bay several weeks ago, started the bid at $30 and never got a bid. That saw should have went in the $70 range in my opinion. I have a good condition 3-10, I guess I can expect the same from it?

you never know, i sold one today for $160. it was a 10-10s though

Well I guess from reading all of the replies that I will be looking for one of the cheaper 70cc saws. I believe a 7-10 or maybe hold my tongue and hope to find a steal on a pm700.

Thanks for all of the info. I believe I will also try and get or find a 20" bar for my 10-10.

Maybe to keep on keeping on I will try and find another 10-10 (better for me to keep on the cheap side while I am learning)

Any hear of any dirt cheap 10-10's let me know please.

Here's a few more roller nose's for you guys.

teebow - there are a whole bunch of 70 cc 10 Series saws, 4-10, 5-10, 6-10, 7-10, PM700, SP70; any of which would pull the 24" bar just fine.

I think there is only one "60 cc" class 10 Series saw, the PM/SP60, I've run mine with a 28" but it didn't really have the guts to pull it with authority, it is much better suited to a 20" bar but it is not really fresh any more either.

Between my PM700 and the 7-10, I much preferr the 7-10, a lot more snot and snappy to boot.

Has anyone put together a CD of all the Mac shop manuals? Like the IPL's on CD that covers most models. If not, I could do it. I would need a way to get all those manuals though. I could start a check list and mark the models off as I receive them. Then, out them in CD for everyone to enjoy.

I should note, i've got all the IPL's on CD but i don't have not even one shop manual. that's what i'm looking for, an easy way to get all the shop manual combined.

1-86 Ric. My 1968 McCulloch Pistons/Cylinders/Rings catalog lists that number as being for a 1-76/1-86 block. 99cc.

Here's the Acres site listing.

Model Profile: 1-86

thanks Aaron. now that you mentioned it I think JJ told me that model when he looked at it but
we went through dozens of saws and if I dont write it down I furgits. ;)

I did just buy a few new marker pens so now he needs to drop over again and I can tap his brain for more numbers.. :D

Any one know of any pills to get rid of the CAD-M string?

I am totally ready for another McCulloch.

Welcome to my world... well, you could put the phrase 'old school saw' in place of McCulloch... and I ain't even done with the 790 yet! :dizzy:

I ain't heard of a pill to correct this CAD that seems to be so rampant...
