Hello fellas, I got another McCulloch given to me. It is a Pro Mac 700 and I got it to run, but I need a carb kit for it. Do you guys know which carb it is. I got on acres internet and did a search with the walbro part number they had and it came up 0 results. I am pretty anxious to get this ole girl runnin. One last question, what is the max bar length you would run on this one. I would like to find an ole McCulloch sprocket nose to put on it. It only has a 16" bar on it now.
Acres says it's a Walbro 87666 whatever that is.
I know sp125 parts are hard to come by. Just wondering what folks think a reasonable price is for one of these plastic "sawdust guards"?
Bob Johnson used to have some of the plastic sawdust guards, black only as I recall, part number 84629 and his were reasonably priced.

Yeppers. Had them listed for a few months. I was hoping he would relist 'em for MUCH less. Last I saw, he still had some NOS hardnoses from the same era. Also spendy. I'll send you the links when I'm back on the home computer.
Here are a couple of the seller's completed McCulloch bar listings. He had more RN bars (including at least one 10-series RN bar), but the "complete listings" search on feebay is much more limited now, and doesn't go back far enough to find them. A person could dig through the seller's feedback list to find the remaining bars if they were so inclined.:

NEW VINTAGE MCCULLOCH CHAINSAW MC 45 KART FLATBACK CARBURETOR 48890B | eBay
Be aware that this is a KART application carburetor, and it has no choke or primer. A fellow would have to prime the saw for cold starts with a shot of mix down the throat (like the Kart guys did). Also doesn't have an AF stud. That makes it most suitable for a top-tank (1-76, 790, 797, etc) McCulloch. The throttle arm looks VERY good for setting the saw up with non-governor type throttle linkage. Bend your own with a 'Z' bend in the end. That throttle arm is also replaceable with the removal of the slotted head screw (like a Tillotson HL). Unlike the chainsaw flatbacks, the swedged/non-removable arm is on the LEFT side of the carb. It's on the right on chainsaw flatbacks. Bet you could easily put an HL arm on this saw if the one that's there now wouldn't suit you.
In the seller's pic, you can see the groove/passage cast into the mounting flange that allows flatbacks to be used on either front tank or top tank McCullochs without adaptor plates. Zoom in to see it. I mentioned this in my earlier McCulloch top-tank and front-tank chainsaw carburetor interchange "dissertation"...
Well now ive got my DE 80 running good. The only thing is the gas cap leaks. I replaced the gasket and still poors gas. Dont see any cracks. What gives?
Holy smokes, these hard nose bars are high!
I just got a 24" and a 28" for about $45 shipped together!
Sure would HELP if the daffy seller would list the item(s) in the correct category .. :bang:

It sounds like the negative pressure vent has failed. It may be easier to get another cap.
Would you guys happen to know a source for a 24" bar to fit a MAC 380?
