Well in that case you need not bother removing the flywheel either just leave the points and condensor in place cut the wire going to the coil and join the module to it bolt the module somewhere safe and Bob's ya uncle.

McBob.

Nah i would take the points out, neater install and you need to put the module where it wont over heat.

Overtrained you win. Haha. I just chose my user name cause it let me. Oh and I like mini macs. I have two runners and a parts saw. A 110 and a112.

I figured my user name would grab some attention. I am not easily offended plus I have a big jar of salt. Lol

Thanks. Cleaned the points with a file, regapped them. Gapped the coil from flywheel to .010 and it has nice hot spark. Just need a few parts and it should make a great runner.

I am a bit out of touch this week in Asuncion now and ending up in Buenos Aires for Friday/Saturday.

The cut off saw is indeed based on the 795L power head. To make one a saw again would require a different stuffer plate with the port for the oiler, the oil tank with manual pump, and the auto oil pump, plus the clutch and clutch cover. Certainly not a big task but the cut off saw has it's own cool factor...

My Target Quickie was converted to an HL befor it arrived to me so I left it. My 895 has the choke style flat back with idle governer. Some of the 795L saws had the SDC conversion like the Super 797; at least my IPL shows that. The only 795L saw I have seen belongs to Roland.

I sent a NOS Target Blue flywheel cover off to someone (24D?) for some hot saw project, there may be another floating around in the attic...

Mark

Thaks for the info Mark. I'd be happy with any color of flywheel cover and starter cover. I'll most likely repaint that saw.

Will those Nova II ignitions work on any saw?

...thinking about trying one in a PM6

-Andy

Some saws require either a flywheel change or removal of the key and re-positioning the flywheel. I've used Nova IIs and they work well.

Thanks for the responses guys...

Anyone know if this is the case with the PM6?
