Back to saws.

797 on a cold winter morning.

I've been dreaming up a good use for the BP399-T, I thought about sending it straight to Dennis Cahoon but somehow that didn't happen...yet anyway.

Good news fellows, I am in the Saigon airport and should be home in time for the Superbowl on Sunday. Mrs. Heimann says the whole family is coming over so I'm sure my grandaughter will keep me from napping through the game...

Well, the 850's oiler issues have been solved. No more bar oil leaking into the engine's crankcase.

She runs good.

Ouch.

I want to get into the 82s, but I have 3 7.5s I want to (re)build, and a couple exeriments on 87s to do.

I'm still begging for a air filter cover for this saw. If anyone has a source, please let me know.

I'm afraid I'll have to buy a while PM805 saw just to get the lid. Then the "plan" would be to sell it after taking the lid off. Of coarse, I wouldn't sell it.

I can probably get you a filter cover, but I won't get over to the place where they might be for a couple weeks....

No crank seal on the clutch side!

Causes a piston to look like this.

The cylinder looks very serviceable. Minimal transfer and no chips the chrome. I'll give it the acid treatment and see how it looks then.

Who'd thunk I'd find these at the gun show today?

Joey, sorry to see your 805 self destructed on you. Cringe worthy damage...

Hope the cylinder can be saved!!!

I actually traded some other saws for this one. I knew if felt lose so I was expecting to find some damage.

It's time to see if that cylinder will clean up now. I've been working on a go kart for a friend. I was trying to talk him into ditching the Briggs and put a Mac kart engine on it. I did not succeed.

Ha, that fool.

Well, glad to hear it wasn't a fresh rebuild that ended up self destructing, and that you had an early warning at the minimum... I know I'd be devastated if my 850 blew up on me without warning.

It depends on what he wants to use that kart for. If it's just farting around the lane, or a kart that a kid's gonna run................then a Briggs 4-stroke (or similar industrial engine) is really a better choice than a peaky, high-strung 2-stroke Mac Kart engine anyways....

Well, I reckon you're right.

If that kid was gonna be running from the cops, then he certainly would need two MC101's running full tilt, ported, three carbs, and on alcohol... with a three speed transmission at the minimum.

A Briggs is good and proper for piddling around a driveway and backyard...
