A lot of wrenching and a little cutting.

I spend most of the afternoon replacing chains. My 800 was wearing a 24" bar. I replaced the dull chain with another one - so I thought. But it made this little whizzing noise from the nose sprocket. Wrong pitch chain - who knows where I got it. Didn't have any others so I put my 25" stihl bar on it and tried a new 84dl chain - no go it won't fit with my 8 pin. Fortunately, I had with me a new 33" and chain. It ran much better than I expected. Betty (my 32" 8 pin equipped 125) managed to throw the chain and burred up most of the drivers just enough to be a super tight fit. Dumb me thought I could just knock the chain into the rails and the hardened bar would smooth the burrs, but the saw didn't have enough to pull it. So I had to beat the chain off using a screwdriver to catch the edge. Just as well, as with the chain in hand I discover that 5 drivers are completely chewed off. Ric (my 36" equipped 125) threw its chain as well but no damage. I ended up putting chains on it twice. As to the cutting, I put this storm damaged oak on the ground, bucked to length the 4'+ stem and chunked up the "second" top so it would be safe for others to buck to length. In the end the MACs redeemed themselves. Ron

I picked up a 755 today

Got a 755 locally today that was missing the bar and chain, but included the gearbox.
Motor is loose, but the saw will need tinkering to run.

The interesting thing about this is that I picked up a bar/chain/helper handle/gearbox for a 755 this spring at the other end of town. It can't be from the same saw since both parts groups included a gearbox.

My first two man saw... I will post in two man thread also.

Stude, glad to see someone here got it. I had an email in when I saw it this morning, but never got a reply.

That'd be a fun one to run at a GTG, heck, I'll volunteer for the dumb end if need be.

Maybe it'll inspire me to work on the locked up but complete 5-49 down in the shed.

Psst - it's a 7-55 :poke:

I fired it up, it ran fine and long enough for me to tune it. After dinner I came back out to run it and check the oiler. It made a funny noise so I shut it down. I could hear something rattling in the motor. You see it, I'm angry!

Good news is, cylinder and piston look good far. I'll clean them and check better.

That looked noisy Ron.

It got the others' attention, but I couldn't hear it over the kart muffled SP125C. I just heard a series of pops. It grabbed the saw before I could get out. The more I think about it the more I want to kick myself in the rear. I cut it exactly backwards (the face cut was solid front to back all the way across) as the tractor driver had told me that the field on the weak side belonged to an unknown somebody and we were doing our best to stay out of it. As it turned out there wasn't much in the tree's sides. To add unintentional insult to injury, after the tree was down the tree owner who arrived late in the game tells me that the field I was avoiding was his and the one I was aiming for was his neighbor's. Nevertheless I had some fun. Ron

I know, not a "real" Mac, but I love (most) of the Titans.

Joey, I'm going with a chip in my SP project...you want the points box and contents?

It just kills me that it has to wear the wrong name plate.
