Ok cool, thanks for the info. What’s the difference between the 1 and 6? They look pretty similar without having both in front of me to compare.

I got it taken apart this morning and started digging into the carb, it seems to be an MDC 3, ordering a rebuild kit soon. Wasn’t too much of a pain to get disassembled/taken out of the housing, but we’ll see about getting it back in…

Presenting my mint condition Mac Cat. Never touched wood. The 38cc Mac Cat is the saw that started it all for me. Managed to get a beaten down one on ebay some years ago. Slowly builing it back together part by part had planted the little seed within me when it comes to loving old McCullochs. Couldn't pass on finding this one new with original packaging. One of the saws that I acquired fairly early in my collecting was a late model PM6, complete with a brake. Not knowing what direction my collecting was going to take, I sold it...

Jeffrey - Congratulations on the NIB Mac Cat complete with GLX chain, very nice. The 300 Series saws have really good engines, but the ergonomics on the short handle version make them less enjoyable to use. The 330/340 models are actually very comfortable to operate, but my vanity would not let me use one in a public setting.

Since that photo was taken I have been 3D printing the airbox covers and now have OEM or 3D printed covers on all the saws in the display.

It's interesting to me how (according to the Mike Acres site) the PM6 and Mini Mac were available at the same time up until about 1974, I wonder if the PM6 was marketed as more of an arborist saw while the Mini Mac was more of the homeowner model?

There's a PM6 for sale locally pretty cheap, but I already have several small Macs and now I have the itch for the bigger Mac saws haha.
