I started out my August with a trip to the woods! I'm still logging white pine, and with some help, i got some BIG logs out!

Once i had the tree on the ground and my helper had it de-limbed. I then cut the logs out and started skidding them out,

These are some monster pine for around here, these days,

Once i had them to the landing, i loaded the trailor,

And we had a BIG load to pull out!!

These are some huge logs at 16' 6" long and around 30" in diameter for the bottom logs. And in fact on one hill, i had to let out a lot of chain to get the tractor to the top of the hill to pull the load over.

Once home, i started the pump, and my helper "fire hosed" them until clean!

Now to get them milled into lumber!!

"OK" pict critics, there's some more to work on! lol

I would like to see a better picture of your fork and grapple set up. It looks like it works well for you. What are you planing on making out of the logs?

Robert....

Your supposed to smile in the pictures!

Like most others in my area our mills are sitting idle and have been for almost two months, the drought in a non drought area, things are too dry to even consider firing up the mill. One drive through the field on the atv, leaves a new dirt track.

Whats the lift capacity on your tractor? Those are some mighty nice logs.

The new Norwood newsletter is online now......wanna buy a LL24 new for $1995! Some great deals to be had for sure, keep your blade in the cut and happy milling!

It's been very dry here too, up until a week or so ago. Things have greened up a bit now that we've had a couple rains.

Here's another pict. of my grabble,

It's been VERY handy...

My loader is rated to pick up 3,650 pounds...

Glad you guys liked the picts...

BTW, The logs will be milled, mostly into 3x8's to be used for rafters... Side lumber will be 5/4 to go over the rafters...
