Ms 462 vs ms 462 cm

After I asked you guys and girls about the 400 vs the 400.1 you people said get the 462. After looking at some videos the 462 is awesome and it only weighs 4 oz more than the 400. I have a 261cm that I bought in 2017. Recently it wouldn’t start. I had to replace the coil which cost $150 without being able to return. I also replaced solenoid and filter which was I think another $30. I live in southern ny. So no worry about sea level change. The 400 is 1130 with the 25 inch light bar and 462 is $1460 with the 25 inch bar. So for $330 I get a better saw. If you were me would you get the 462 or the 462cm? I appreciate your feedback because you all know about chainsaws then I do. I also have echo 590 that I bought around 2018 for $350 which has been my most reliable saw and a little better than my 261 but is on the heavy side.

Do they even offer the MS462 non Mtronic anymore ?
I have ran the MS462 and the MS500I . I have not even seen a MS400. I guess nobody has torn one up yet.

I think for practical purposes for most of us they are toys. IE we are not making a living with them.

Personally, if I was going in that direction I would get the MS500I to match your MS261.

Now, if you just want to cut fire wood and stay warm , get a MS460, 046, 044, MS440, MS361, MS362, or any number of much cheaper ways to do it. You can run them forever and save a thousand dollars.

They still offer a 462 non mitronic. Everything I have seen the 462 keeps up with the 500i.

I have heard that. I run them after rebuild to see if they are going to fly all to hell. Usually, just a few cuts . I know some loggers who prefer the MS462.
