My main choice is the 192t, I mainly do removals though, not vey much, if any pruning. I do want a Silky though!

MS200T.

OK...................... Trying to be nice AND make a point here........

192t: 1.7bhp 6.6lbs
200t: 2.2bhp 8.4lbs

Now, on paper at least, seems like ther would not be enough difference to justify the weight, right? Never run the 200t, only drool over them now, thought about getting one, didn't like the weight! But there is no comparison between the two and the weight doesn't matter, RIGHT? Now thats 2lbs difference (give or take) I have not run the 441 yet either, but if the power is close to that of the 460 (t is on paper at least) that extra weight might be worth lugging around, Right?
2lbs in a tree vs. 1lb. on the ground, just something to think about.

Was your 192 one of the recalled?

.257 horsepower per pound for the 192T

.262 Horsepower per pound for the MS200T

The 200T has a higher horsepower to weight ration than the 192T. Plus the MS200T has longer expected service life.

Both the 440 and the 460 have higher horsepower to weight ratios that the 441.

You must be god like to able to notice a difference of .003 in HP. I would think the weight difference would be more noticeable.

No, it's a newer one.
I got the specs from the latest catalog.
Cannot and will not argue the service life.
My thinking, they are going modular with all of their saws, each series of saws will all be built with the same crankcase (ala 290-390) lowers manufacturing cost. Doesn't mean I like it, but look at the new Huskies (I know, deadhorse, but all of them will be this way soon enough!)

uhh...The 441 has 30% longer engine life... engineered to last... Oh that's right, nothing matters other than Treeco 's psychotic preoccupation with 12 ounces.. There can be no positives if it weighs more!

Treeco - go buy a Dolmar. Put yourself out of your misery:chainsaw:

Before I buy a Dolmar I'd like to see how much you are going to trash Stihl saws.

Are you saying Stihl did not design the 440 and 460 to last?

Better cylinder materials in the 441, Lake? Or rings? Or pistons?

Your M.O. makes it looks like it wont be long before you are also running down the 441 as a has been model.

The 441 has been engineered to last 30% LONGER than the 440... I believe this was thrased out in the first few pages of the "other thread..." So if you were happy the 440, you'll be delirous with the 441, or a Dolmar. I just want you to buy a Dolmar so you can have something material to talk about instead of armchair whatever. Don't you have a day job?. One that means you have to go to work?

You're just grasping at straws as usual.. and making up pure unadulterated BS. I don't run down any saw, my brand or other... head of to Hell's Kitchen where I can really kick your butt and stay within the rules...

Around here a guy piece cutting 15 to 20 cords a day for a living any saw is toast in two years.

That sounds like advertising hype you've been spoon fed Lake.

Have you any details for us?

Read the other thread - stiffer crankcase... more metal cross bracing etc - oh my god - NOOOOO it's HEAVIER... A little thermal engineering revison as well.

Get to Hell's Kitchen - are you chicken my little super mod????

When I was five, I engineered a card house to stand 50 gazillion stories. It's a pity I had such evil siblings who thwarted my efforts. . .

Same with the loggers around here.. But they replace the top ends twice then the bottom and then just before it dies the third time - EBAY!!!

Lets see a 441 cost 750.00.
A 575xp cost 550.00 from baileys and the 372 about the same.
Why even go there.
What kind of Deals is Sthil giving on the ms440 ?

Hype or not. Sthil or any company does test there product out first.
Hasn't the 441 been out in the Europe countries for awhile.

None... It's current production for another 6 months. Some dealers might give you 10%, but I'm not sure why. The 372 is a close-out, but a good deal. The 440 is made in Germany so it wonl't go on close-out in the USA -they will just redirect production to other corners of the planet. For all we know they will keep making it for the SA market for years.

Nope. The testing was done in the USA and Europe for over year. The USA market is the first release.
