I got a Stihl EDT-7 works fine for my saws and for my lawn mover !!
I have only good things to say about it, it's fast and consistent in it's reading :)

I have to agree with rbtree...

Don't let a bad local representation scare you away from having what you really want. This is one of the few benefits of allowing online sales. If the local dealer is unsatisfactory, you can order the saw. Just consider the lead time & shipping costs invlolved in the case of a warranty repair. But I would encourage you to handle the saw if at all possible. Listed saw weights can be offset by ergonomics like grip angle, handle spacing, etc.

I keep going back and forth on what bar length

I have read the different threads on bar length but I can't decide what bar length to get when I buy my 361. According to this thread http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=46789 , it sounds like most prefer an 18" bar on a 361. The majority of the wood I cut is ponderosa pine. Is there that much difference in weight and balance between an 18" and 20" bar on a 361?

Honestly myself, I wouldn't own a 60cc saw without a 20" on it!!!!!!!!! I think that is where these saws belong, and are comfortable at.
That is just me of course.

Imo, regular use of a 20" bar 70cc territory.

The 361 is perfectly balanced with an 18", or a bit shorter.....;)

Admittedly, this is more a question of balance, than of ability to cut well.

Considering all the informed opinions that are rendered here, I agree with the above statement 100%.

I run an 18" on my 350 and it suits me right down to the ground, less than a 20" on my 359 and I feel like I should be using my 350 instead.

Trolls opinions on balance bear some thought if issues of arm or wrist fatigue are in play, or if you just plain want to overpower a 12" piece of wood!!

Chucks opinion
