If that saw is less than a year old show it to Stihl dealer or rep. Maybe they might replace it, manufacturers defect?
Depends on the mix brand. Stihl and Husky should be fine but there are others like Echo’s “red” stuff that work well.Should I make 1:40 mix for Al of my chainsaws?
Ok friend then a new cylinder kit it isI'd be afraid of more plating peeling off that could damage the bottom end, new oem cylinder and piston is where I would take it.
Keep the old cylinder for porting lessons.....

Nevermind I thought it was a newer saw.The saw had quite some hours don't know how much, just taken I'd apart for inspection and good that I did because the cylinder was in bad shape and one bearing to so good that I did because it could have been worse
I use Motul 800 off road. Even in summer at 38 degrees celcius worked very good on some thick 70cm logs no rotten cores. I was done by exhaustion the chainsaw barely got warmHey Tomos thank you for the reply, I will be definitely buying that oil.
