I had great success with both a Jeep Cherokee I-6 engine, and the Grand Cherokee 318. I did alot of off-road hunting with both Jeeps, and they never got me into trouble. I did keep a set of tire chains for the rear just in case.
When I built my house, I pulled alot of smaller stumps with the Cherokee.
Now I have a '99 Durango with the 360 V8, and it has seen some off-road action, although it's not as nimble as the Jeeps. However, I needed the extra room of the rear 3rd seat with my growing family.
Welcome to the forum. I'm new here also and I think you'll find AS is a great place to visit.
EDIT: PS... congrats on the new MS310. You're gonna love the extra power.
