Jeremy, seems the PP335's show up more often then the 3000's or 305's. There thin ring 54cc saws on the same chassis, you might like one of them as well.

For what I'm shooting for, I need it under 3 cubic inches, so the smaller one is what I'm goin with. No doubt the 335's are great runners, just a bit too big.

Nice work Mark.
I love those yellow Poulans - people here think they are Minimacs and I get 'em cheap!:ices_rofl:

Gotcha....

Heck if thats the case, they should be not only giving them to you, they should be loading the car for you as well. :)

No doubt a nice looking PP305, Mark! But I see you keep bragging about the 5100 "spankers" you have. You've mentioned a PP325 and now the 3000. I might just have to bring my 5100 with me next month and do a little comparing. ...That is, if you don't run off before we get a chance. Hell, my 5100 even has some scoring. :hmm3grin2orange:

Steve, be very, very careful of what you wish for. :msp_biggrin:

Read again though, I never said my 3000 would beat my 5100 I said it will run right beside it.

My 325 will beat it though. The best part of the whole deal though is it sounds like I will get to meet up with you in person again.

Sure planning on being there, Mark! Looking forward to seeing you and all the others.

Couldnt find a still pic on the poulans, just on the huskys I made the bar to fit too.

Mark plain black 16" bar is in this video on stock 3750. 3/8 050 60dl with replaceable tip and comes from that poulan place.

Hey Mark, can I send my "305" up and let Steve see if it runs with his Dolmar?

Why don't you send it directly to my place, Randy? I'll be glad to run a comparison on it. :D

I'll throw my Redmax 5000 into that mix :msp_wink:. It dont have any torque to brag on in the cut, tuned for a limbing and pulp production saw. But she pulls 3/8 like a beast in :msp_w00t:

My point wasnt that the 305/3000 is stronger then the Dolmar and the other so called Super 50's.

The point was that here we have a 23 year old saw that runs really good. Good enough that the newer saws dont impress me much. I have also found that the old Partner 50cc saws are not a scared of the new ones either.

In fact the 53cc versions (based on the original 500 chassis) will teach the young pups some humility.

Cutting cookies and bragging about being tenths of a second faser it one thing, but running the 3000 in the real world there is no real difference in how much wood it will put in the truck in a day compared to the new wonder pups. To me other then the Husky having spring anti vibe compared to the 305/3000 the 305/3000 are nicer to me to use. The controls are the best laid out there is. Like was shown the weight is no issue either.

These old Poluans still run good enough for me.

Why thank you very much. That's a very nice thing to do. I did in fact just find a nos bar for this 305 last week, but would take another. What I'm really looking for right now is a black Poulan Pro 16" 041 mount bar in .375 low pro for the new Poulan Pro S25AV that I got at the same time as this 305.

I will keep my eyes peeled, have you ever purchased anything from Parrish implement co? I just bought an nos full wrap handle and 24 inch hard nose Poulan labeled bar for my 5200 from there. Definitely check them out. Just don't spread the word!

No need to look now, a fine AS member alerted me to the correct bar for the S25AV and it is now heading here.
