Looking good! is the muffler opened up?

Yes a little. It was opened up a little when I got the saw. Still the stock opening, screen is removed, and I think the outlet hole size is stock, I bent up the outlet deflector a bit. You can tell by the sound, its a little louder, then the 372 you did for me. So far I'm pretty happy just cut a few cookies, ok for my first port job.

Just for a refresher

Squish if I can remember is set at .022, exhaust widened to .075 to skirt edge, raised as much as the gasket I removed, then just blended and widened out opened up muffler and gasket to port size. Intake was not widened, just smoothed out casting marks, and port matched to the intake bellows.

here is what I started with.

Thanks

GREAT JOB:clap:, i wish i was mechanically inclined but i lose my paitence way to quick

Thanks too. Yes you defiantly need patience. Did you read this whole thread? If you didn't look earlier, I had it together once and the rod bearing let go, seized up. Good thing it didn't take out the P&C.

A little update on the saw. Demo'd the saw today for a tree service. It ran really great going through 30" Fur, 28" bar burried pulled it great. They really liked it, unfortunately I didn't get to run it though. I was trying to put more time on my new 372.

No, the piston has no windows, so there really isn't much work to do on it, besides maybe to lighten it up a bit.

I have my 372 apart I ported the intake and exhaust I am just wondering if any body knows how and were to remove material to lighten up the piston I am weary of grinding the inside without some advice of someone that has done it before pics would be great Thanks.

I am up for that too I know how to port the cylinder but would like some more info on how to lighten the piston.
