Well I got 12 saws laid out as of right now. I was only going to bring 8 but seeing how Brad is bringing 10, I just couldn't be beat out on saw count by him. :hmm3grin2orange:

Just come in from cutting out a new spike for the Speigel 223. Cant find em anymore so I'm down to making them. This one had a bent clutch cover with a small crack in it so its for support for it more then anything.

And I thought I might be bringing 5 or less until I started getting them ready.

Yeah I hear ya, I just keep finding more that just HAVE to come along.

Naw really I'm sure I'll change my mind on some tomorrow when we load up. Depends on how many and which ones Chris brings and how many we can fit in the little trailer.

Put it this way Mark, I'm bringing Poulan saws vicariously thru you.

I just removed my mostly fallen off decal from the clutch cover of my '80 Lombard that cosmetically only needs this to make it look new. I cleaned the sawdust and oil from the decal with WD40 and then dawn and hot water. It looks like a plastic laminated paper decal. I am looking for an adhesive that will not damage the decal. My gut says to use Elmers, what do you guys think?

My new favorite glue is called "welder". It's sold at lowes and is by far the best contact adhesive I have ever used. It kinda reminds me of goop mixed with awesomeness. I have used to to coat old rubber intakes for grimy VWs and glue everything together. It works great. If you can't tell yet, I think it works pretty well.

HELP!

I have 2 3400's here and will be picking up a red Craftsman 3.7 tomorrow all without air filter covers. Anyone coming to the GTG with any to spare?

Gary, I'll look tomorrow, I think I have one that someone drilled some holes in, kinda like a slotted 3700 cover I guess. Its black, not green. If I can find it, your welcome to it.;) I used it for some time, till I got a true slotted one.

Would you mind explaining your process of cutting out the spike bars, what you used, etc.? I wonder if it would be okay to make them out of aluminum since I seem to have a bunch of it nowadays..

I found this #2 T/A in TX. It was 1 of 3 I have had and was the cleanest by far I have seen.
Somebody knew that I just set certain saws on my shelf and only use them for gtg's and testing against, so now they both have a new home.
Like I have said before I aint married to no saws and if they aint working they can hitch a ride elsewhere. :msp_biggrin:

Only 1 of the 3 that has had a chain brake too.

I am bringing one, maybe two saws... thats it. The Dayton isnt acting quite right, and has me half pissed. I do plan on bringing the 550XP either way. Bone stock, not broken in. Has Carlton chain, which seems like good work chain, but definitely does not have the sqaure top plate as Oregon or Stihl chain does.

Chris and I just finished loading the trailer down. We will be leaving in the early morning.

Got a good assortment of saws in there. Chris brought some heavy duty stuff! Some interesting stuff as well.

Me I got a bunch of old green junks thrown in there but they should all run.
