Somebody make sure one of these types are running and cutting at the gtg. I would like to hear these idling and in the cut with these non mufflers.

Kevin, Mark is bringing his 71A, that will make your ears bleed, if not wearing muffs.
Steve, (67Mustang) is suppose to be bringing his Super 72 also, don't know what for non-muffler that must have too. Stand between them, while they are both cutting, I bet thats a great test for you hearing protection.:D

Gregg,

Really wish I could make this shindig. Going to the Ark GTG the next weekend, can't do both. Damn!

Fell of the wagon today

I hope all you guys going to the GTG have a great time (as if you couldn't).
I hope someone posts some videos and pics.\

I bought bought a Stihl MS260 in good shape an hour ago for $100.
Secretly hoping to trade it for a nice Poulan when one comes up.

I fully understand your position BUT................You are going to be trading dollars for pennies!!!
The Blosser Family and this GTG is THE premier GTG!!! You will never be in better company or enjoy better hospitality than the Poulan guys and Ohio Gregg's family.

BELIEVE THAT!

Mike

I must have the "Deluxe" model on my old 47. Its all open also, just kinda points it down a little.

Gregg,

A good portion of my hearing is gone so they don't bother me.

With a bungee cord and a small platform on top of the wrap they would make a good paint shaker.

I really wish I could make it but I have other committments. If there is another one as close as Gregg's I will try my best to make it down. I would love to see all those Poulans (and others) and try out my 3400 & 5200 to see if they run as good as I think they do.

WRT the MS260. I know that many of newer saws are great and cut well but, I'm really getting into the older saws.
The Poulans might be a bit heavier than the new ones but I'm amazed at their performance considering their production dates. I feel like they are the AVRO Arrow of chainsaws. For those of you not familiar with the Arrow, check out these 1958 performance spec's

Mike, wouldn't you trade a 260 for a 655 or 7700?

I see no reasoning behind it but the lip looks awful uniform to be damage from an unknown object. If this is normal, what is the purpose?

Those are some awfully kind words Mike, but it is definitely the class of people that make up a Poulan Lovers GTG what it is. Bunch of great, helpful, fun loving people, even if some of us slobber or drool on there green saws.:) Wouldn't matter a hill of beans where we held it.

The distance to many gtg's for many is the bad part. I have made it to several, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Each one is unique and special. This one just happens to center on the best dam chainsaws ever built in this country, and we just try to build and keep their legacy going.:msp_thumbsup:

P.S. Latest weather I looked at is showing temps in the mid to upper 60's with about a 40% chance of showers late Sat. into Sun. So maybe we can luck out again.

You asked the wrong one that time pardner!
I, personally wouldn't trade a 260 for a good running Wildthing unless it was coming in one door and immediately going out the other. They have a lot of fans................................But I'm not one of them!!!
