I see no reasoning behind it but the lip looks awful uniform to be damage from an unknown object. If this is normal, what is the purpose?

Umm, not sure how to answer this one. What do you really think?

I'm seeking a Poulan Pro330 for a friend. Let me know if any of you fellers have one to sell or trade.

Randy, you feeling ok?

I'm not sure how you got lost going to the swap thread but you ended up in the Poulan thread.

Just so you know

Super 33 by mweba1, on Flickr

Is it on the exhaust side of the piston or intake? If on the exhaust it may help to scavenge more exhaust before the port is closed. If on the intake it may help in ramping the fuel charge up into the cyl to help with atomization. I suspect its on the exhaust side by the looks.

Darn. I will throw it in the trash Monday. LOL

OMG!!!

Don't do that!
There are a lot of the un-informed out there who really like those pieces of crap and will pay enough to get it that you can go and buy two GOOD Poulans!!!

It will probably fetch enough on "that auction site" to get you a 3000/PP305 AND a good S25DA!!!

Best way is to pull them and measure them, then match them up at a bearing supply house or good auto parts like NAPA.

thanks mark, i'm sure you are right but unfortunately i usually butcher those seals when i pull them. might not be able to get good OD measurements when i've finished. anyone got any idea what the ID, OD, and thickness are for seals for the 361?

edit: duh! guess i could always measure the case. still, anyone got the dimensions handy?

Just kidding. I'm going through it now. I got burned a bit as the piston is scored. I should have looked but the compression read 166 lbs so I figured it would be OK. I learn stuff the hard way.

I will be interested to see how it cuts vs my 026. The Canadian 260's have an open 026 type muffler and high and low needles on the carb. Other than the compression release, 44.7 mm piston, gas tank vent and air filter and those stupid flippy caps (they must have put those on so you couldn't refuel if you were drunk) I don't see a lot of difference.

Anyways, done with this as I shouldn't have put this up on the Poulan thread

First of the hardcore Poulan guys showed up late this afternoon. Steve (67Mustang) & Dean (Igpoe) arrived with a nice big trailer load of Poulan & Disston 2-man saws, Big bow saws etc. Should be fun seeing some of the big old iron in action.

No, we didn't run any saws today...:D But ain't promising anything about tomorrow. LOL, I think they brought a few "normal" saws too. Probably just be a goof off day, relax and BS. Doin what old Poulan guys do best! ;)

Gregg,

Just case bore and crank will do it. The crank diameter is better than seal measuring

What's up guys? I suppose all the GTG talk is in this thread. I got 10 saws all fueled up, sharpened up, and loaded up. Lisa, Anna, and I will be headed up tomorrow evening to Lisa's parents in Findlay. I'll be there Saturday morning, hopefully with my FIL.

Hmmmmm that depends on when :msp_tongue:, I plead the 5th. :hmm3grin2orange:

I've had more and like that whole series. 330 3450 3750 wish I had one like OhioGreggs 380 I think. Just because. :msp_thumbup:

I like those too! Why won't anybody sell me a good "Tim Allen" 3750? Who wants one of those?

Air filter covers needed!!!!

HELP!

I have 2 3400's here and will be picking up a red Craftsman 3.7 tomorrow all without air filter covers. Anyone coming to the GTG with any to spare?

Any tips on how to reapply a plasticized decal?

I just removed my mostly fallen off decal from the clutch cover of my '80 Lombard that cosmetically only needs this to make it look new. I cleaned the sawdust and oil from the decal with WD40 and then dawn and hot water. It looks like a plastic laminated paper decal. I am looking for an adhesive that will not damage the decal. My gut says to use Elmers, what do you guys think?
Larry

Well I got 12 saws laid out as of right now. I was only going to bring 8 but seeing how Brad is bringing 10, I just couldn't be beat out on saw count by him. :hmm3grin2orange:

Just come in from cutting out a new spike for the Speigel 223. Cant find em anymore so I'm down to making them. This one had a bent clutch cover with a small crack in it so its for support for it more then anything.
