Mine is the same model and the PN is stated on the front of the owner's manual. I think the numbers may be different for the ones sold in Canada

MAPaul, If you want to PM me your your e-mail address I will send you the IPL, owner's manual and repair manual for the 3400

Nope......:msp_confused:

Being a person who makes frequent mistakes (I hope you're not like me) I hope you don't mind me asking basic questions.
Sometimes my stuff doesn't work due to this and sometimes there are fires.

Are you sure the pump side gasket and diaphragm are in the right sequence? Diaphram against the carb and gasket against the cover.

It has to be something basic that's wrong.

It likely was high for a reason. Level won't work on all saws. I have discovered that sometimes you have to raise it. Try 1/16" above and see, then another 1/64" on a cut and try.

OK, I'll give it a try and see what happens. Can't get any worse.....

Did my question about spanner wrenches and clutch removal get lost?

A couple of pages ago, I asked about using an adjustable spanner wrench on my S25 to remove the clutch and replace the sprocket. Anyone? I looked at pictures of spanner wrenches on google and saw many shapes and sizes. I am not a mechanic and never had one. Can anyone tell me which I should get for the job? And how about a good source for an S25, Type I sprocket?

No need for a spanner wrench, they wont work well anyway. The proper Poulan clutch tool is part # 530031004, do a google search of that number if you like to see where to get one.

Failing that you can use a large cresent wrench on the end of the clutch and turn it off that way.

As for the sprocket, did you ever think of getting one from Poulan? From a dealer or online. Also any small engine shop that can order Oregon can get one and there all over ebay all the time.

Your welcome.

Thanks, Mark

How much should I pay for the sprocket?

I,ve seen sprockets go for $10 to $25. Only paid 20 for the saw.
Larry

What do you think sprockets sell for now days? What you paid for the saw dont make any difference to the price of sprockets.

If you think thats too much I hope you never have to buy a bar and chain for one, you will have a heart attack.
