View attachment 267225getting back to the root of this thread...I love looking at and running Poulans When we die off they young guys won't have a clue. Pure horsepower and built to last. Perhaps the best designed saw ever built. Thanks fatguy for starting this thread. When I die you have first dibbs....I am going to leave a note to my wife of 44 years. .:hmm3grin2orange: unless you already have one...can't be greedy......

I am just plain Poulan green with envy. I kinda, vaguely remember when my 5200 looked that clean.(The day I got it from the dealer)

Here is the P/C from the PP455 few weeks back. the ring broke off and bounced around in the cylinder on top of the piston for a few. anyone have a P/C. this is only the 2nd time i have done this on a saw. i have done it on mower engines several times.

saw looks to be in good shape otherwise. needs a good cleaning.

what i need:piston, cylinder, rings, base gasket, muffler bolts. View attachment 267207View attachment 267209View attachment 267208

You aint going to believe it, but I just checked at poulanpro.com and they show that as being able to add to your shopping cart, meaning that its in stock somewhere.

This isn't the right thread for that.........but go buy that SXL-925. I love mine.

No that was a K095 mount and it was .058 was it not? Those were only used on the Poulan Pro 325's far as I can remember off hand.

How sweet it is. I can see the 4200 and the Craftsman 3.7 in there also.

I haven't given up finding a PP 655 but is it worth me grabbing a Pioneer P62 in preparation? Are they similar? I really don't know much about Pioneers and the Poulan Pioneers of this era. Hell, I don't know anything!
You lucky PP 655 owners, please put me out of my misery. Is a P62 anything like a 655?

And Stephen C, hang on to that 8500. When I die, I am taking mine with me - apparently there are BIG trees in heaven. And worst case scenario, there has got to be a a big call for wild fire control if you go to the other place.:ices_rofl:

You could extend your desire by being buried face down with the saw. Then we could continue to fulfill your wishes.

Mark, I'll believe when I see it. BTW, if avail. can this be a direct swap to a 405?
Well being its from Poulans website, I wouldn't be surprised if they did indeed have it.

I would think this would swap to a 405, but I would check with Arrowhead, he could tell you for sure.

AND when you add it to your cart......it doesn't show as having to be backordered, either!!!!!!

I'm probably not the only here who knows how to run a backhoe.

AND its a very good price for a OEM P/C.

Didn't happen to see a dusty old P/C for a 5200 while you were in the back room at Poulan did ya Mark?:hmm3grin2orange: It's kinda sad that even with after market P/C problems and fights taking place elsewhere on this site, I would be tickled to have a CHOICE of a OEM or AM sets for our old Poulans. :(

Gregg,

I glad you got them OK. Yes I did get the money.

I will keep an eye out for air filters.
Where's the video of you cutting with that really nice 4200 you bought?

Tim

I know about my inbox, crap.I forgot about the video.I have 2 b/c sets, one 20" echo hard nose with stihl full chisel chain and 1 18" oregon b/c.The stihl is almost new and the oregon (i'm talking about the chains) is in very good condition which i've just sherpened it.Both setup's doing almost the same thing on the 4200,don't cutting, especially the oregon which i must pussing it very much. The RSK is a real slaughterer very dangerous i must say,i had it on the 306A.When the saw touching the wood,it wants to leave from your hands but for a very mysterious reason, the chain cutting whenever she wants.I've never sharp this chain,it is just like i bought it.The video is my first priority when i figure what's going on with the chains.
