Is this supposed to be gray and red? Vintage Sears McCulloch Homelite Chainsaw for Parts or Repair | eBay

Why don't I see more of them like you do the later ones? 3400 types, for example.

No it was orginally all red. Remember before when I said that all the Poulan replacement parts came in gray primer and not lime green?

My guess is by just selling them in primer they cut down on part numbers and stocking different colors of the same parts.

Just think how many colors that would have been for that saw model. Lime green for Poulan, Red for Craftsman, Orange for Dayton, olive geen for Allis Chalmers, silver for Ridgid, I think you get the point that that saw in question at some time in its life got a new replacement handle assy put on it at some time.

Sorry to smudge this page with a craigslist ad but is this a ok deal it looks almost like new being as old as it is. I know it is a poulan but im going to guess a 3000 or 3300? not sure though i talked with him and he said it has the original bar/chain on it and was only used a few times.
Craftaman 18" Chain Saw

Makes sense as my 202 had replacement fan and clutch covers in gray primer.

This is the first Sears branded 306A type I've seen....................................................

Here is your second one then:D

Gregg,

Good job Carl.

Hope it works out. I saw that one, but held off. Too many irons in the fire. Good thing, as we'd been bidding against each other. I do hope to score one of these in Poulan red someday.

If thats a 46cc like stated that should be the same as a Poulan Pro 295 or a Poulan 2900.

Good saw.

I'm going to be ordering more 16's for myself.

You now know they are available too to buy from the oem dealer still that I have bought from for years. Just was giving you the heads up on the price sheet I was emailed.

Later

so you bought that one carl? if so, glad it was you. i been fighting myself all week about bidding on it. decided not to since i've resolved to at least start working on my backlog before buying any more saws. we'll see how long that lasts. at that price i shudda went ahead though. looks good though
