is it worth 100$ or should i be finding something else?

It's always difficult to set a price on a saw. Too many variables. One way to gauge worth is to look on eBay for what items have sold for recently, sort of a "KBB" for chainsaws. Assuming that is a rebadged PP 295 here's on that sold on eBay about a month ago:

Poulan Pro 295 Just Serviced and Ready to Go | eBay

There's a lot to be said for being able to check the saw out in person, assuming it's close by, and not depending solely on what someone on eBay says let alone how long it takes you to get it.

Ok this is just my opinion and nothing else. I believe that Poulan's 46 cc saws sell new for around 120 to 150 dollars. So for used 100.00 to me is alittle on the high side. I would be more likely to pay around 75.00 tops for it myself if it is in good running condition. Also another thing to consider is most of the people here are very good at repairing these saws so they know right away what they are looking at and what it will take to repair. They also have the resources for parts which can sometimes be an issue.

From what I have been reading is that most likely you will end up replacing the fuel line on it anyways because the factory fuel line does not seem to hold up well to the ethanol fuel being used today. Hope this helps.

I have 2 of the PP 260, 42 cc saws and 3 PP 295, 46cc saws. I think they are good saws.

I'm with you. I usually have at least 2 or 3 of this series saw at all times. They are great to fix up and sell but I usually sell them for 50-80 bucks depending on condition. I have one here right now that looks new that I'm selling to a neighbor for 80. One bonus is all of the sears saws I've fixed of this series have the chrome jug.

JJ, are these bars the D176 mount?

No they were only K041 mounts that have been for sale for ever and I just got the new price list yesterday. The seller dealer just set up a store with the bars and prices.
I have never ask about the D176 because they wasnt hard to find. But the 16" K041 was. Even though the guy has never stopped selling them for about 5 years now. :msp_rolleyes:

When bars dont have oiler holes where I need them. Just a simple drill and bit fixes that.

Even channeling works on bars to move oil where you want. Last resort though. Not talking about the K041 D176.

I just got a big surprise. The 16" K041 mount bars appear solid just like the Oregon powermatch bars. Say made in Canada probably at the Oregon plant I would bet.

This bar was modded on one side only to run on husky K095 mounts too. I do the same with my husky bars to run on the poulan K041 mount.

COOL! Is it .325 pitch or 3/8? Mark sent me a bar like that (.325) a while ago to use on my Super E-Z Automatic (which takes a K095 bar). I don't recall it looking like it was modified however. Maybe it was a K095 mount...

No that was a K095 mount and it was .058 was it not? Those were only used on the Poulan Pro 325's far as I can remember off hand.

PP 455 P/C advice and thoughts?

Here is the P/C from the PP455 few weeks back. the ring broke off and bounced around in the cylinder on top of the piston for a few. anyone have a P/C. this is only the 2nd time i have done this on a saw. i have done it on mower engines several times.

saw looks to be in good shape otherwise. needs a good cleaning.

what i need:piston, cylinder, rings, base gasket, muffler bolts. View attachment 267207View attachment 267209View attachment 267208
