I was looking for some part saws online when I came across this old 2 man poulan, it looks like something someone here might like to check out.
2 man chainsaw - $500 (hartsville, sc)

That looks to be a good one for sure! Steve, (67 Mustang) has one just like that. I think the guy selling it is a little off on years though. LOL Poulan didn't start making & selling saws till 1946. I think Steve thought his was built around 1950 or so.

Gregg,

Gregg,

Yes, AFAIK the first Poulan two man saw was the 2400 and it's a toughie to find. Only one I've seen was locked up and little more than a parts saw. Guy wanted a bundle for it.

poulan 92

Thanks for showing Dave, I really like the 86 Super and the Poulan clock.

There are no sandcast saws around my area that I have found really, but I have been keeping my eyes peeled for some time. Think you could russel up a couple of 92's for us? :msp_biggrin:

I have a 92 gear , green color , and a 91 tan color , my 91 took a slight poop on me , i think i can fix , the 92 looks alittle rough
but runs awsome , real loud .
I know where there is another 92 bow saw but the logger will not sell , my 92 has a bow and the 91 has a roller nose bar

sawmandave,
Here's the photo of the top plate. L8ike the 2 sideplates, there are almost no markings left, but there IS what appears to be a serial number - 284224, if that tells you anything. Thanks for the speedy reply.View attachment 276005

what color is saw if it is tan it is most likely a 65 , if green , it will be 53..

Sandcast Poulan bowsaws

Speaking of sandcast Poulan bowsaws, I just got one yesterday, which sawmandave said might be a 51 or 65, I think. I still don't know which because the saw has almost no surviving markings except the serial number. But, I have another question, too. What kind of gas mix is safe to run in these saws? The Acres site quotes a recommended 16:1 ratio. Most new saws do fine with 50:1 using a good synthetic oil. Is it OK to use the same 50:1 premix in the old bowsaw? Should I split the difference and go 32:1 or 40:1? Any advice is welcome, especially from those who have run these saws.

I'll send you a few $$$ as the paycheck allows 'til I get it paid off!LOL

Mike

You blew your cover. :msp_wink:

I was searching badboy poulans today again for 3450 info on google. I started LMAO when a pic of YOU came up eating the burger at the poulan gtg.
I even showed the wife and pointed. Look it's Mike the poulan badboy. :msp_biggrin:

Sawmandave,
Here's the picture of the saw againView attachment 276254View attachment 276255

That light yellow color is pretty much what it looks like. I wouldn't call it tan and definitely not green. I'd guess that in the shot of the saw with the recoil facing you, the color of the square carb cover right behind the hanging recoil handle would be the best representation of the saw's original color. Of course, the paint job on the entire saw is probably faded.
