Cut off a piece and made a diaphragm. Started saw and ran it and got a good flow off end of the bar. Material seems to work fine.
Bob
PS didn't even use manual pump to start the flow.
Thanks for letting us know Bob. That's a big relief. Looking forward to an auto oiling 3700 now.
Have a great 4th of July.
Tim
Tim, as a followup I did notice that there was a lot of oil dripping .after the saw was shut off
Did poulan make saws that big?
From oiling too much? If so, I think I will put a restrictor in the oil line like a small brass bushing or something.
What size bar were you running on the saw?
I know my 3400 oils a little too much with a 16" bar and I get quite a puddle under it if it idles for a while sitting.
It certainly oils a lot heavier than any of my newer saws like the 285, 3600, and 026.

+1
just got back from getting my new parts installed. My wife told me I got some mail:msp_w00t:
I have 1/2 sheet. I assume the other half of mine got mailed to where it was supposed to go.
Great job of packing and keeping the cost down.
Thanks Tim and David.
Baileys no longer has the spur sprocket needed for my Poulan 3700. They do however have this. I tried calling them today, but those who know are not available. Maybe it seems obvious, but I don't want to assume anything, so that's why I'm writing. Can I remove my spur drive clutch drum and replace with this Oregon Power Mate rim and drum system? If the answer is yes, I'm going to like this more than the spur drive.
Thanks and happy 4th to you!!
..yada, yada...
No time to check them out fully as the kids are keeping me busy with painting and putting in a partswasher.
