Couple of small poulans I've cleaned and went through of recent for maintenance. Both are good runners. I hope these pups will grow into a 415 someday. Will they change from green to yellow as they age? By the way, nice 415 video Mike.

Kevin,

Don't hold your breath for those to grow into "Big Yellows"!!!LOL

They are a dang nice little saw in their own right and will surprise MANY of the saw snobs.

That wasn't my video, I just knew who it is and where to locate it.
I have run that saw (as well as a couple of the other members here) and it is STOUT!!!

The big green one

Ok, the big green one is here. I should say the filthy big green one is here. :)

This one is a S6000 while my other is a 6000. I thought I would pickup the S6000 and that it was a Dolmar 153 instead of the 152 like the regular 6000 is.

I was wrong, the S6000 is indeed a late model 152 being that it has the later rear handle of the 153 but still has that stupid large dia crank on the PTO side. Meaning that it cannot accept a stock rim drive sprocket and a .404 X8 or a 3/8 X8 spur is all that can be found for them. Bad thing is there a dog with a .404X8 setup.

Anyway this one is nice under the grime and gunk on it. It is a very. very low hour saw with a mint P/C, the original 19" bar and Poulan branded chain. That's what I said, a 19" bar. Not sure why anyone would want to lug this thing around for only needing a 19" bar. :hmm3grin2orange:

I went to try to get it running before the cleaning and promptly screwed up and broke the end of the crank trying to pull the flywheel on it. Didn't bother to look and didn't realize that Dolmar for some reason drilled the end of the crank just about the whole length of the threaded part of it. The pointed puller just pushed the sides of the end apart and split it. :bang:

Oh well, now its coming all the way down and that's not really a bad thing as it can be checked out all over and get new seals, gaskets, lines etc. I already found a crank for it as well as everything else for it.

Here it is as received.

Nice clean saws. I would wish for them to grow into a nice 8500 though if it was me! :givebeer:

Here she is cleaned up some before disassembly. It was still a mess under the covers. I'll try to post some apart photos tomorrow.

Purple Power!! Just kidding, not sure what you used but they look good. I only say purple because I tried the stuff for the 1st time last night and was amazed how quickly the grime wiped off.

I'm scared of that Purple power, tried it in my USC and turned a carb gray in a hurry.

I have been using Spray Power Orange from Crown quite a bit lately and I'm happy with it. Good stuff.

Do you cut or use it st8 out of the bottle. Spray on, wash off? I'll have to see if anyone has it around here for a test run.

Sent on the fly.

I use it straight on this and then washed it off with a garden hose. I don't like to hose them off but since it was getting torn down right away it won't hurt any. It's really best to spray it on then wipe it off.

I got turned on to using this stuff after using the boat and RV black streak remover. I get it at Menards but have ordered it from there website as well.

Mike, nice saw. Isn't it a Jonsereds clone similar to the PP 475? Wood looked a little punky but it still ran great.

Yep wood was punky on 475 video, but only stick I had at the time. 475 = jonsered 2077 = partner 7700

I just ran the 445 against a dp 440 and 372 in some nice solid fresh dropped ash 14" round. Surprised me when the 445 was the quietest with stock muffler and screen still installed and out cut the other 2.

I'm lazy and have no patience for the search feature on AS, so I figure it'd be faster to just ask you guys if there's any love for the Poulan Pro 415.

Local guy has one reasonably priced and I'm wondering if it's worth the ride to check it out.

TIA for any input.

If it's up by you it's safe by me. But go get it......................................:msp_thumbup:

Thanks for the good info. Have to clean up a 450 under the carb area and was looking for a good way to do it without spending forever.
