Don't know, Brad. Looks like you want it pretty bad though. I'm going to check back on the link to see who gives feedback and then see if that identifies him.
I do really want one, but not THAT bad:)

Shoot for That $299 you can have My Dayton
If only it had the bow setup. I understand the bow setup is worth close to half of that $300. I know what you mean about being upside down in a saw. I would like to have your saw, but understand where you're at with it.

Yea I know. I dont think I could sell it to you for that much I would feel bad. That and the fact I like it way to much but $300 is alot for that and makes a man think

The handle bar has foam,

That's some pretty shiny FOAM! in you pics.lol Are you sure it's not rubber?
Either way I'm glad you figured out that it's a 5200. They are great running saws.

It's definitely foam. The outside is really smooth, but you can tell that it's not rubber when you hold it. You can see the little bubbles when you look at the end of the grip. I can get a close up pic if I ever get some batteries for my real camera (the other ones were from my phone).

I'll be the first to admit I'm a real :newbie: when it comes to saw models and sometimes terminology, but I can tell foam from rubber :p

This would not be the 1st time that I've been wrong in my life.

I was perusing eBay tonight and had searched "vintage chainsaws". Lo and behold if I didn't find what I've been looking for. LINK I'd prefer it in Poulan colors without the Powersharp, but hey, beggars can't be choosers! This is a Dayton 2Z463, which is the same saw as the Poulan 245SA. It looks to have been used very little and supposedly runs great. I even scored a nice roller nose bar with it! Can't beat that with a stick. Now I just need a bow bar for it.

Dang Brad. You sure can find those saws. Guess I didn't know there was a "vintage saw" category. You picked up a real nice saw. I've got the Dayton /Poulan 3400 and have never seen anything larger. Great find.

I had bought the Super 380 as a rebuild project. Was in rough condition. The cyl & piston were excellent, except one of the exh. bolts was broken off and wollered out the hole. I bought a new cyl. for right around $90. I also ordered a piston kit, but ended up not using that. Just bought a new ring and reused my old piston. They were like new. I still have the piston kit, new in box.
They list the 3500 cyl. at $133 & piston kit at $44. Yikes! Allmost makes ya want to just try find a usable parts saw, at those prices.

Gregg,

Well I'm stymied about the difference between our saws. Looked at IPL for both and they use same piston kit but the jug is different number. If both are 60cc, then they should have same stroke. The carb number seems to be different yet the carb repair kit is the same. That would mean the same basic carb but some modification to it. I'm guessing your saw is newer and have to wonder if it was EPA changes or maybe for the newer formulations of gas, 10% alcohol, etc.

Nice Find Brad:clap: and at a decent price too! The bow setup for that saw will cost ya more than you paid for the saw I'm affraid. ModifiedMark can tell ya more about it, but where on the 3400,3700,4000 type saws, its just a matter of cutting a slot in the clutch cover. On the 245 I think you need a different clutch cover & handle bracket. Besides the bow..lol

At this rate, a Poulan a week, and you will be back in the Poulan Group in fine standing. LOL Like Mark said though, I could hardly believe it when your 4000 made the trip to Hawaii. I sent Jeff a set of decals for that saw, but don't think I have seen a picture with them on it.
Hope they worked out for him. That was a Dandy!
