My wood pile is starting to look lower then its been in sometime, but I'll have enough to get through, I only heat the shop with wood.

Soon as this job is over its wood cutting time. A buddy just bought 11 acres of woods and is clearing a bunch out for a home site and driveway. Were going to cheat though as he just bought a big ole track hoe with a thumb on it. Knock em down, carry to a spot, cut stumps off, carry to a limb pile to limb them and then pile up logs.

Load logs on trailer to haul home and cut up later. Sounds like a mini GTG might be needed!!!

Gregg, I feel for you somewhat. I have been fighting this stuff for sometime.

Here is what I was in last week, Griffith IN got about 2' of snow in just a few hours. Of course I had to be out in the middle of it. ;) For the record, I'm standing beside a F450 that is setting on top of some of the snow.

Poor Chris had to drive through that area that morning after he was working nights. He regretted not looking at the weather and driving the car to work instead of the 4wd truck.
wow......

Thats a great pic Mark! Looks like you could use a High Life and a warm fire about then. :D
We havn't had great amounts of snow, SO FAR. Just dang high winds & super cold, that keeps moving the snow drifts around. Ya plow one day, the next day the wind shifts and fills things back up, and puts it in new places.

Oh well, February is almost here. Least it SOUNDS like were gettin closer to spring..whether we are or not. LOL

Gregg,

Im hoping for some snow, I do 7 driveways and while its really just extra money I miss it! Plus I just bought an 11/32 toro that I havent even used yet and I re built and painted an 8/26 for sale on cl! Need some snow to sell it.

FWIW--The date on the Craftsman Operators Manual for model 358.362180 (Redmax 400) is 5/7/08, looks like revision 3.

I'm curious to know how it got assigned the Poulan 358 prefix.

Have you go that manual? Computer file or hard copy? I haven't looked for it yet, but I'd like a copy.

Never mind, just got it off Sears PartsDirect. Thanks anyway.

the tri state area, Michigan Ohio and Indiana intersection has been dumped on harder than I can ever remember it. My house is about 15 miles from the state line. Most of the rural roads are only one lane with snow banks six or seven foot high in spots it is like driving in a snow ditch. I would be very happy to send it all to you if I could. A new 11/32 would be a lot of fun in this stuff.

Ha, new only to me steven, like most all my stuff, the toro is used, mint shape. But its an `86.

I remember that like it was last week.

Never seen anything like it. People stuck on inclines at interchanges--I wasn't stopping to help cause I'd get stuck alongside them--just had to slalom around. At one point, if I slowed too much, the wind would blow snow over my windshield and blind me. I had to stop when leaving the plant because I saw a dark wall thru the snow and thought I was off the road headed for a coal train.

My 4wd would have paid for itself that day.

Almost like trying to chose your favorite child, but for sentimental reasons I like the big counter vibes the best. Nothing promotes and educates the ignorant as well as putting a good running 4200/5200/8500 series Poulan in large wood in the hands of a Poulan basher.
I see we're of the same school, then - I love the 4200/4400/4900/5200, but also love the 306 and 245. My father-in-law has a large tree that needs to come down, and he's of the "there is only Stihl" thinking. I really want to get one of the larger Poulans again, and show him what it can do. It's either that or rent a bigger Stihl to bring it down. I do like Stihl, but I have an undying respect for the old saws. They just have so much more life and character!

Stephen C, where abouts in Michigan are you?
