Whats the sandcast? I'm in the market for a 53A....

BTW, you take pictures like my wife, either sideways or upside down.. LOL

Nice blacktop 5200.

Mark, the big old sandcast is a 71-A. I normally upload my pictures to Photobucket, but I'm taking them directly off my phone so that's the reason they're different angles.

I put the 5200 back because I was running out of money. After I loaded everything up I counted my money again I had enough to get it decided It was too good to leave behind.

Smart move! The 71A is a keeper but since I have one, I'm after its little brother a 53A

What did you end up leaving behind? Shame there wasn't old sales literature to be had.

I wanted to get pictures of the little poulan 20 today, but it's been raining.:( I picked up most of an Allis Chalmers branded 25DA today, along with another craftsman branded 25DA, and a parts 306A.

It's going to be close to 1300 miles when I get home.

Wow that was a long haul. Around here your not going to find many trees to cut so no old dealers around or saws for that matter.

Neighboring states within a 600 mile radius would be Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota. Not exactly known for their abundance of trees. Maybe some parts of Colorado.

That's the business right there! I'll be posting some pics of my new find tonight. Been covered in ice and just got power back not long ago.

A few weeks ago, I needed to get a carb kit for my mower. Got a couple shops in the area that I use, but my wife told me that I needed to go to one in particular. When you walk in, new mowers and saws left and right but straight ahead is the used tree of saws... 'Bout 6-8 diff ones hanging off. Mostly orange... some with cream... But something yellow caught my eye on the bottom in the back. 655 written down the side of the filter cover. I about ished kittens...just don't see them lying around. The wife and youngin had stayed in the car, but told her to come in and see why she told me to choose this shop. :) Saw had little wear it seemed. Factory 20" hardnose. Asked about it and guy said they picked it up at a city auction, was an old Fire Dept. saw(which meant to me good maintenance and not alot of use). Had it sitting in the sho about 6-8 months. One guy bought it to cut up a big tree he had down but brought it back and traded it in on a smaller orange saw. It was just to heavy for him. Aww. Hehe :) I didn't have the cash for it so put $50 down to hold it. Wife said I could have it for my B-day. (I love her!) The ice storm this week seemed to bump up the timeline for picking it up. Had a big maple fall across the driveway and other trees around down. She knew the 3400 would do just fine but wanted me to have a good backup since my others needed tinkering with. I think she wanted it here almost as bad as I did. Lol. Went and picked it up amidst chaos of everybody trying to buy a chainsaw at one time after storm damage. Used it to buck the trunk. My God! That thing cuts like the Devil's tongue with the 20"!!! Going to get a bigger bar later but for now it'll do. Never saw that kind of plate on top either. Guess that could have been a city asset number or something. I called Poulan, gave them the serial and they told me it was manuf. in '93. I figure for $250, I didn't come off too bad. :)
Baaaaah! Photos won't upload. Give me a min for those. Sorry for the teaser!
