Nothing about fashion a necessity for some. They come in handy for folks that have a hard time starting certain saws. My dad in late 70's has hand and shoulder trouble. After 26 years of starting his poulan 3300 with that tiny azz oem 2 finger size t handle he was having trouble getting is saw pulled through. I told him I had a fix for him and he loves the 460 rescue handle and being able to use his whole hand to start with ease.
My no decomp 066 and 166 both woods ported 180psi-190psi were candidates for these too. Plus all of the cold start race saws I had, had them for that perfect start for those quick grab motions.

@Jeremiah Johnson

I fully understand. Wasn't trying to poke fun at anyone. I am going to enjoy those handles on my big Jonsereds.

Thanks again!

Heres a question for y'all, the flocking was mostly gone on the air filter for my 5200, so i wire brushed it all off and got a prefilter for a lawn mower ( the green foam) cut a piece to fit inside the two halves. It worked really well. Question is do i put some k&n oil on the filter or just go with it the way it is.

Well, my poulan's chain keeps going tight. It has a new clutch drum and the oiler line is fixed. Anyone have the correct bar mount # for a 2300? It's running a new poulan bar which fits nice and the tensioner lines up, but looks like the oiler might be a little off. But that wouldnt make the chain go from loose to completely tight in 10 seconds. Any ideas?

Number 1. Make sure you have the correct size chain, Bar, and sprocket on the saw. All 3 of those have to match.
Number 2. Make sure the sprocket is not badly worn.
Number 3. Could be the chain itself is bad.
My bet is something is wrong with one of the sizes for the chain, bar, or sprocket.

OEM is .325 or 3/8 low pro & .050

Its a 91vxl chain and the bar part # says its 3/8. Chain is new, only 2 months old and only 30 cuts with it, as the saw keeps giving me fits.

530069166 is the part # for the sprocket.
952044368 is the part # for the bar. Poulan brand.

If it was me, I'd put a light coat of oil on it so it would catch the fine particles. Most foam filters I've used were lightly oiled.

Take the bar off and hold it with the tip up and then run the chain through it making sure the chain rides correctly through the sprocket nose.
Then take the chain with the clutch cover off and run it over the sprocket and again make sure it fits and is rides smoothly through the teeth of the sprocket.

How are the drive teeth on the chain are there any burrs on any of them that will get caught up in the bar making it hard for it to pass through. I have seen this happen when chains are put on backwards and ran and than turned around and put back on correctly. The drive teeth get a burr on them.

Ill have to post a pic i cut a piece of foam and put it on the inside and it works, im just afraid its impeding air flow.

I know it, its just the way it is now its got foam right on top of the venturi when before it had air space.

From loose to completely tight in 10 seconds.
If the bar is not getting any oil then I could see it getting tight but not in 10 seconds unless you were leaning on it like crazy because the chain was dull.

Start the saw with the clutch cover off and the bar and chain off and then see if it is pumping oil.

That series with the banjo fitting/duckbill to pressurize the tank always benefits from a new duckbill. You can swap out the duckbill in the fitting with a new Homelite one. The green Poulan are too long. Regardless, a simple job that results in better oiling capacity.
